Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) announced 503 Group-I vacancies in Notification No. 04/2022, with applications scheduled for 2–31 May 2022. That application window is long closed, and TSPSC later cancelled the 2022 notification. Candidates who had applied were required to submit a fresh application under Notification No. 02/2024. This is a historical account, not an open recruitment notice.
What the 2022 TSPSC Group 1 notification announced
TSPSC’s Notification No. 04/2022, dated 26 April 2022, invited applications for 18 categories of Telangana Group-I posts. It listed 503 vacancies in total. The Commission cautioned that vacancy numbers and departments could change in light of information from the departments concerned.

These seven categories account for 421 of the listed vacancies; the notification included 11 other categories. The figures describe the 2022 notice and should not be read as the vacancy count for a later recruitment cycle.
When applications opened—and why the notice is not current
The online application period ran from 2 May through 31 May 2022. The notification said fee payment would be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on the closing date. Both dates have passed.

More importantly, TSPSC’s Notification No. 02/2024, dated 19 February 2024, states that Notification No. 04/2022 was “now cancelled.” People who had applied under the 2022 notice had to log in and apply afresh under the 2024 notification; the 2024 notice said they did not have to pay the fee again. Those who did not re-apply would not have their candidature considered under that successor notice.
TSPSC later issued a third certificate-verification spell under Notification No. 02/2024 for June 2025, showing that the successor process was active at that point. The official records cited here do not establish its precise status as of 8 October 2026. For current vacancies, deadlines or candidate instructions, consult TSPSC’s latest official notice rather than relying on either the cancelled 2022 announcement or this historical summary.
What the original application required
Registration and fees
The 2022 process required candidates to register through TSPSC One Time Registration (OTR) and then complete the separate online application for the post. The notification explicitly warned: “One Time Registration is not considered as an application for any post under any circumstances.” OTR alone did not submit a candidacy.
The cancelled 2022 process listed a ₹200 processing fee and a ₹120 examination fee. It provided examination-fee exemptions for specified Telangana categories and unemployed Telangana applicants who met the notice’s conditions. These amounts and exemptions applied to that historical process, not automatically to a current notification.
Eligibility varied by post
Most posts in the 2022 notice required a bachelor’s degree, but some had additional or different qualifications. For example, Regional Transport Officer required a degree in Mechanical or Automobile Engineering, or an equivalent qualification. Age limits varied by post and were calculated as of 1 July 2022; the notice also specified relaxations for eligible categories. Some uniformed posts had physical requirements. These are terms of the cancelled notice, not current eligibility guidance.
How selection and examinations were structured
The 2022 selection process comprised an objective, OMR-based preliminary examination followed by a conventional descriptive main examination. The notification initially forecast the preliminary test for July or August 2022 and the mains for November or December 2022; those were tentative projections. TSPSC’s recruitment listing records the preliminary examination as held on 16 October 2022.
In a web note dated 18 January 2023, TSPSC reported that it had declared a list of 25,050 candidates on 13 January 2023, shortlisted for the mains in a 1:50 ratio. That figure is the Commission’s reported shortlist for the 2022 recruitment process, not a vacancy count.
