TSMC reported consolidated revenue of NT$511.86 billion for September 2026, up 54.6% from a year earlier. Revenue slipped 0.6% from August, however, and the company’s monthly release does not identify how much of September’s total came from AI-related demand.
How much did TSMC revenue rise in September 2026?
Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company Limited (TSMC) reported NT$511.86 billion in consolidated revenue for September 2026. The figure was 54.6% higher than the NT$330.98 billion reported for September 2025, according to TSMC’s September 2026 revenue report, filed with the SEC on October 8, 2026, and its September 2025 revenue release.
The year-over-year rate compares September with the same month one year earlier. It is a different measure from the month-to-month change: September revenue was 0.6% lower than August 2026. For January through September, TSMC reported NT$3,898.73 billion in revenue, up 41.1% from the same nine-month period in 2025.
What the different comparisons show
| Measure | Reported result | What it compares |
|---|---|---|
| September year over year | Up 54.6% | September 2026 against September 2025 |
| September month over month | Down 0.6% | September 2026 against August 2026 |
| January–September year over year | Up 41.1% | January–September 2026 against January–September 2025 |
These figures describe revenue growth over different periods; they are not interchangeable. The sharp annual increase and slight monthly decline can both be true at once.

What TSMC says about AI demand
TSMC’s 2025 annual report said: “Entering 2026, we expect AI-related demand to continue to be robust, even as macroeconomic uncertainties persist.” That is the company’s broader demand outlook, not a statement specifically explaining September’s revenue result. The annual report is available from TSMC’s annual reports page.
The September revenue report gives consolidated totals and period comparisons, but does not provide an AI revenue breakdown or say that AI alone caused the monthly increase. The available figures establish strong year-over-year growth; they do not quantify AI’s contribution to that growth.

How to read the September result
TSMC’s September 2025 revenue had already risen 31.4% year over year, to NT$330.98 billion, while falling 1.4% from August 2025, according to the company’s 2025 monthly revenue figures. That comparison helps show the base against which September 2026’s 54.6% annual increase was measured.
TSMC’s historical monthly-revenue page reports consolidated amounts in millions of New Taiwan dollars and notes that 2025 figures were unaudited. Revenue is not profit: these releases do not, by themselves, show the company’s costs, earnings, or the share of sales attributable to any particular end market.
