TSLPRB’s 2025 Assistant Public Prosecutor (APP) application window is closed. Applications opened at 8 a.m. on September 12, 2025; after an extension, the final deadline was October 11, 2025, at 5 p.m. The recruitment was for 118 posts in the Telangana State Prosecution Service. The board has not established a new APP application window in the notices cited here, so check its official website for any later updates.
What happened to the TSLPRB APP registration dates?
The Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board (TSLPRB) invited online applications for Assistant Public Prosecutor posts in 2025. Its initial application period ran from September 12 to October 5, 2025. A notice on October 5 extended the deadline to October 11 at 5 p.m.; an October 13 notice confirmed that applications had closed.
At 1 p.m. on October 5, the board reported 7,183 registered aspirants, of whom 2,193 (30%) had submitted applications. It cited those figures and public holidays when announcing the extension. The October 13 notice reported 3,132 applications received before scrutiny. These are figures from the board’s 2025 notices, not an indication that registration remains available.
The official board website now lists APP Recruitment 2025 as a past recruitment and separately presents 2026 police recruitment information. The notices cited here do not establish the latest APP result, final selections, appointments, or a new application period. Candidates should check TSLPRB’s official website for subsequent announcements.

What were the posts and pay scale?
The August 15, 2025 notification advertised 118 Assistant Public Prosecutor posts in the Telangana State Prosecution Service, with a pay scale of ₹54,220–₹1,33,630. The board described the vacancy count as tentative and subject to change. For the official terms, consult the TSLPRB recruitment notification and notices.
Who was eligible to apply?
Education
The core qualification was a bachelor’s degree in any subject and an LLB/BL degree, or a qualifying equivalent. Graduates of a five-year law course after Intermediate were also eligible. The notification sets out the detailed degree and equivalency requirements.
Rank #2
Age and other conditions
The general maximum age was 34 as of July 1, 2025, subject to the notification’s relaxations. Reservation and local-candidate rules, medical standards, category-specific conditions, and required certificates also applied. Candidature was provisional until eligibility and original documents were verified, so the complete notification—not the general summary here—governs individual cases.
Specific route for certain legal advisers and officers
A September 3, 2025 press note clarified that legal advisers, legal counsels, and law officers could apply under a specific route if they had at least three years’ practice as advocates in Telangana criminal courts and were employed in the specified public or corporate organizations on the notification date. Applicants using this route needed an employer letter or NOC and certificates establishing the qualifying practice. It did not waive other eligibility requirements.
Rank #3
What were the fee and application requirements?
The September 3, 2025 TSLPRB press note set the fee at ₹1,000 for Telangana local SC/ST candidates and ₹2,000 for all other candidates. Payment alone did not count as a submitted application: candidates had to complete and submit the online form as a separate step.
Applications were accepted online through TSLPRB; applications by other modes were liable to rejection. The notification advised applicants to verify entries before submission because corrections were not available afterward, and to download the submitted application PDF.
Rank #4
For uploads, the September 3 press note instructed applicants to prepare a combined passport photograph and signature image in JPG format, 30 KB minimum and 100 KB maximum, plus relevant certificates and documents in PDF format, each under 1 MB. This later recruitment-specific clarification differs from an earlier file-size instruction in the detailed notification. Applicants were also directed to follow the live portal’s instructions.
What was the APP selection test format?
| Paper | Format and marks | Duration | Language |
|---|---|---|---|
| Paper I | 200 multiple-choice questions, 200 marks; the notification allowed an online or OMR-based offline test | 3 hours | English |
| Paper II | Descriptive, 200 marks, with special emphasis on pleading and drafting | 3 hours | English |
The notification prescribed negative marking for incorrect Paper I answers and category-specific qualifying thresholds. Candidates should refer to the notification for the threshold applicable to their category.

What was on the syllabus?
The syllabus included the Constitution of India; criminal procedure; criminal law; evidence law; Criminal Rules of Practice and Circular Orders; and numerous central and Telangana statutes. It also called for awareness of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam alongside the older codes named in the syllabus.
TSLPRB amended the syllabus after its August notification. The September 3 update removed the Limitation Act, 1963 and Prevention of Food Adulteration Act, 1954 from the listed central acts and substituted the Chit Funds Act, 1982 and Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. It also substituted specified Telangana laws, including the Telangana Prevention of Ragging Act, 1997 and Telangana Prevention of Dangerous Activities Act, 1986. The October 13 notice appended the updated syllabus; candidates should use that later version rather than an unamended copy.
When was the APP exam scheduled?
A later TSLPRB notice described December 14, 2025, as the tentative examination date. It scheduled Paper I from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Paper II from 2:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Hyderabad and surrounding areas. That date has passed; the notices cited here do not verify final examination outcomes or appointments.
