In 2025, utility professionals could choose from events focused on power, water, policy, technology, and day-to-day operations. The best fit depended on what they wanted to learn and whom they hoped to meet—not on a verified ranking of the “must-attend” events. The conferences and webinar below are historical editions; check each organizer for current dates and program details.
How to choose among utility conferences and webinars
Start with your work and the kind of exchange you need. A policy-focused conference, a technical water gathering, an operations forum, and a virtual session serve different purposes. For networking, look beyond a general promise to connect: scheduled roundtables, receptions, first-timer orientation, and short peer presentations offer more specific ways to meet people.
- Professional focus: Decide whether you need policy and regulation, generation, grid operations, water and wastewater, or technology and market development.
- Audience and geography: Look for the intended mix of utility peers, regulators, vendors, operators, executives, researchers, and international participants in the program.
- Format and networking: Compare exhibitions and technical sessions with roundtables, peer presentations, receptions, and webinars.
- Practical fit: For any later edition, confirm dates, location, registration status, travel requirements, and program availability with the organizer.

Utility Energy Forum: operations and structured peer exchange
The Utility Energy Forum ran April 23–25, 2025, in Cambria, California. Its agenda illustrates how an event can make networking part of the schedule rather than leaving it to chance. Activities included a first-timer orientation, networking breaks, receptions, and a roundtable for utility and government attendees.
A short-format utility program exchange
At the “Utility Program Stand-up Challenge,” attendees could visit up to four utility program storyboards. Each station offered a short presentation and Q&A, after which participants could move to another station. That structure offered a practical way to compare peer examples and ask questions in a limited time.

What to verify before planning for a later edition
All dates and locations above refer to 2025 editions. They are not upcoming registrations. Before making plans for a later edition, use the organizer’s current information to confirm:
- Whether a new edition is scheduled, and its dates and venue.
- Whether registration is open and what the current commercial terms are.
- Which professional groups the program is designed to serve.
- Whether the networking formats you value—such as roundtables, receptions, technical tours, or peer presentations—are actually on the current agenda.
- For a webinar, whether it is live or on demand and whether a replay is available.
Utility Dive’s roundup is a useful starting point for the broad U.S. power calendar; the organizer pages linked above provide event-specific details for the other examples. The cited listings do not establish comparative attendee satisfaction, networking effectiveness, return on investment, or career outcomes, so use them to compare subject matter and format rather than to infer results.
