CBR reported that it ranked No. 2 on Paramount+’s worldwide movie chart on June 28, 2025, citing FlixPatrol—not No. 1, and not on a chart covering every streaming service. The $1.5 billion figure refers to the film’s reported theatrical box office, not streaming revenue or viewers.
Which Tom Cruise sequel was on the chart?
It was Top Gun: Maverick, the 2022 sequel to Top Gun, starring Tom Cruise. Paramount describes the film as Maverick’s return to lead TOP GUN graduates on a mission; its official listing classifies it as action and adventure, rates it PG-13, and gives its runtime as 2 hours 10 minutes. What was its streaming-chart position?
CBR reported on June 28, 2025, that FlixPatrol ranked Top Gun: Maverick No. 2 among movies on Paramount+ worldwide that day. That is a dated position on one service’s movie chart. It does not establish a No. 1 ranking, a position across all streaming platforms, or the film’s current rank. CBR’s report, carried by IMDb.
The report does not supply viewing hours, stream counts, market share, or FlixPatrol’s chart methodology. A chart placement therefore indicates a reported ranking, not how many people watched the film or how it performed financially on streaming.

What does the $1.5 billion figure mean?
It refers to reported worldwide theatrical box office. CBR put the gross at approximately $1.496 billion; Paramount’s 2026 editorial guide separately describes the film as Tom Cruise’s highest-grossing movie to date. The exact gross here is attributed to CBR and was not independently verified against a primary box-office database. Neither figure measures streaming revenue or audience size.
