There is no universally most profitable ASIC hosting platform. Your net result depends on the host’s all-in cost, your miner’s efficiency, actual uptime, repair turnaround, curtailment rules, pool fees, hardware price and contract terms. For a U.S.-focused buyer, the strongest current shortlist is Simple Mining, MiningStore, Wattum, Blockware Solutions and Compass Mining—but each fits a different type of miner.

This guide compares them using published pricing and operating information reviewed on August 16, 2026. Provider-stated rates, uptime figures and profitability estimates are not independently audited and can change by facility, machine, fleet size and contract.

What ASIC miner hosting means

Traditional ASIC hosting means you own a physical Bitcoin mining machine while a provider operates it in a data center. The host typically supplies electricity, cooling, networking, monitoring, physical security and some level of maintenance. Mining proceeds are generally sent to your wallet or account through the applicable pool and payout arrangement.

For example, Simple Mining describes customer-owned hardware operated at its U.S. facilities, with power, cooling, monitoring and repair included in its hosting offering. Compass says its hosting fee covers electricity, troubleshooting, basic hardware maintenance, facility operations, staffing and customer support. See Simple Mining’s hosting description and Compass’s hosting-fee FAQ.

Hosting is not cloud mining

  • Hosted mining: You own a specific physical ASIC.
  • Cloud mining: You purchase a contractual share of hashrate or output without necessarily owning a particular machine.
  • Hashrate marketplace: You buy or sell temporary hashing capacity.
  • Managed mining: A provider may source and operate hardware while charging management or performance fees.
  • Mining pool: Software and payout coordination; it is not a physical hosting facility.

These models carry different ownership, counterparty, withdrawal, custody and contract risks. A cloud-mining product should not be ranked as though it were equivalent to colocation of a customer-owned ASIC. Background on the distinction is available from Coin Bureau’s comparison of cloud-mining models.

How hosting affects Bitcoin mining profitability

Bitcoin mining revenue is commonly expressed through hashprice: expected gross revenue per unit of hashrate. It changes with Bitcoin’s price, network difficulty, total hashrate, block subsidy and transaction fees. The Simple Mining hashprice index explains the concept, but any calculator result is only a snapshot.

Gross daily mining revenue
= ASIC hashrate in PH/s × current hashprice

Daily electricity cost
= ASIC power in kW × 24 × all-in hosting rate

Estimated daily operating profit
= gross revenue
− electricity or hosting cost
− pool fee
− management fee
− expected repairs and other costs

Adjust revenue for realistic uptime:

Adjusted revenue = gross revenue × expected uptime

This is operating profit, not investment return. Hardware cost, shipping, taxes, financing, deployment charges, resale value and contract exit costs must be analyzed separately.

Why the advertised kWh rate is not enough

Current published U.S. signals generally cluster around $0.065–$0.08/kWh, but these figures are not necessarily comparable. One provider may bundle cooling, monitoring, repairs and management; another may quote electricity alone or a fixed monthly bill.

Before comparing quotes, ask whether the price includes:

  • Electricity and demand charges
  • Cooling, networking and rack space
  • Installation and commissioning
  • Monitoring and remote hands
  • Repair labor and replacement parts
  • Taxes, deposits and minimum monthly charges
  • Curtailment credits
  • Management or performance fees

1. Simple Mining: best for retail buyers and small fleets

Published signals: Simple Mining advertises U.S. hosting from approximately $0.07/kWh, with product pages showing $0.07–$0.08/kWh, 95%+ average uptime, 24/7 monitoring and in-house ASIC repair. No minimum quantity is advertised for its retail hosted-miner offering. Details appear on its hosted miner shop.

Why it stands out: It offers a relatively straightforward buy-and-host workflow for someone who does not already own an ASIC. Product pages display machine specifications and estimated hosting costs, and a published seven-day free hashrate trial may help a prospective buyer understand mining economics before purchasing.

Example machine: The reviewed product page listed a Bitmain Antminer S21j XP Hydro at 495 TH/s, 5,940 watts and 12 W/TH, with a $9,750 hardware price, $342.14 listed 30-day hosting cost and $481.59 estimated 30-day revenue. These are time-sensitive, provider-specific figures—not guaranteed returns.

Important risks: The hosting agreement disclaims guarantees about profitability, mining output, network conditions and cryptocurrency rewards. Hardware sales are generally final, and first-year repair coverage differs between machines bought directly from Simple Mining and marketplace purchases. Read the hosting agreement before paying.

Verdict: The strongest beginner-to-small-fleet option in this shortlist, provided you verify the exact all-in rate, repair coverage and exit terms.

2. MiningStore: best for larger fleets and managed deployments

Published signals: MiningStore offers U.S. air-cooled and hydro-cooled hosting, including facilities associated with Iowa and the MISO and SPP power markets. Its hosting material describes power, cooling, networking, monitoring and on-site repair labor under a documented SLA. Its calculator shows a $0.065/kWh facility example; this should not be treated as a universal quote. See the hosting overview and calculator.

Managed program: MiningStore’s separate Managed Mining Program describes a 24-month agreement with six-month renewal options, a 7.5% management fee on revenue and a 20% performance fee on profit. The program begins at 10 Whatsminer M60S or newer air- or hydro-cooled units. Those fees do not automatically apply to ordinary hosting.

Why it stands out: It is better suited to multi-unit deployments and buyers who value machine-level reporting, dashboards and operational support.

Important risks: A managed deployment can have a materially different net result from standard colocation because of revenue and performance fees. Provider-published uptime and comparison material is not independent testing.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Verdict: A strong candidate for serious fleets, but compare standard hosting and managed mining as separate products.

Rank #3

3. Wattum: best for full-service infrastructure

Published signals: Wattum offers ASIC equipment, containers, transformers, hosting, management plans and facility build-outs. Its hosting page advertises nine U.S. facilities, a $0.075/kWh air-cooled option, 24/7 management and on-site technicians. It reports average equipment uptime of 97%–98%, alongside power and network availability claims of at least 97%. See Wattum’s hosting page.

Why it stands out: Wattum may suit buyers who need equipment sourcing, infrastructure assistance or a path to larger deployments rather than simple rack space.

Important risks: Facility-specific rates and availability can differ. “Average uptime” is not a contractual guarantee, and the reviewed page does not establish a uniform repair-price schedule or exit policy. Request site-specific uptime, curtailment and repair records.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Verdict: A credible full-service contender, particularly for infrastructure-focused buyers, but quote-level diligence is essential.

4. Blockware Solutions: best for marketplace-driven buyers

Published signals: Blockware combines an ASIC marketplace with hosting. Customers purchase hardware upfront and are billed monthly for electricity consumption. Applicable marketplace listings may provide estimated profitability, historical uptime or hashrate information and a machine serial number. An official Blockware document uses $0.078/kWh as a standard-rate example, but current terms should be confirmed directly. See its Mining as a Service page.

Why it stands out: The integrated marketplace can make it easier to compare new or used machines before arranging hosting. Serial-number and machine-history details can improve diligence, although buyers still need to check warranty status and condition.

Important risks: Published rate examples may not equal the current quote for every facility. Confirm whether billing is based on actual consumption, a flat allocation or another method. Estimated profitability is not a guarantee.

5. Compass Mining: best for single-unit marketplace access

Published signals: Compass uses a marketplace and buy-and-host model. Its hosting fee is a flat monthly fiat charge based on the machine’s power draw and selected facility. The fee includes electricity, basic troubleshooting, basic hardware maintenance, facility maintenance, staffing and customer support. Fees are prepaid and may change for new or renewed arrangements. See the hosting-fee FAQ and fee-calculation FAQ.

Why it stands out: Marketplace access and single-unit availability can lower the barrier to entry. Flat monthly billing may also be easier to budget than a variable electricity bill.

Important risks: A flat monthly fee may continue even when a machine is offline for part of the month. Downtime credits depend on the applicable policy. Facility partners can also create differences in repair experience, operations and support. There is no single universal public kWh rate to use for every Compass facility.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

Verdict: The accessibility pick, not automatically the profitability pick. Scrutinize the facility, renewal price, downtime-credit formula and repair terms.

Standardized profitability example

Use the same ASIC and assumptions when comparing hosts. For illustration, the provider’s worked example for an Antminer S21 XP used 270 TH/s, 3.645 kW, 13.5 J/TH, $0.075/kWh hosting and 98% uptime, producing approximately $3.26 in estimated daily operating profit under its stated assumptions. It also showed approximately 49 months of static payback on a $4,800 hardware cost. The result changes as hashprice, difficulty, Bitcoin price and uptime change; it is not a forecast.

For your own comparison, record:

  • Exact ASIC model, firmware, hashrate and power draw
  • Hardware price, shipping, taxes and deployment cost
  • All-in hosting price at $0.065, $0.075 and $0.08/kWh where applicable
  • Uptime assumptions of 90%, 95% and 98%
  • Pool and management fees
  • Timestamped Bitcoin price, difficulty or network-hashrate assumption
  • Repair, curtailment, financing and resale assumptions

MiningStore notes that Bitcoin price and network data move daily and that calculator defaults can assume 100% uptime while excluding certain setup fees and taxes. Treat calculator outputs as estimation aids, not investment recommendations.

Breakeven power rate

A useful screening calculation is:

Breakeven all-in power rate
= gross daily revenue ÷ (power draw in kW × 24)

This estimates the maximum rate at which electricity alone would consume the miner’s gross revenue. It does not include pool fees, repairs, management, taxes, hardware cost or downtime.

What to check before signing

  1. Rate structure: Is the quote all-in, electricity-only, pass-through energy, fixed monthly billing, or subject to demand charges?
  2. Uptime definition: Is it measured at the facility, power source, network or individual ASIC? Ask for trailing six- or 12-month data.
  3. Curtailment: Can the facility shut down miners during grid stress or high prices? Are credits provided, and are they based on lost revenue or unused electricity?
  4. Repair coverage: Confirm treatment of fans, power supplies, control boards and hashboards; labor, parts, shipping and turnaround should be explicit.
  5. Ownership: Obtain the machine serial number and clarify title, insurance, liens, substitution rights and insolvency protections.
  6. Exit rights: Check minimum term, cancellation charges, relocation rights, resale options and machine-removal fees.
  7. Approved equipment: Confirm whether the host accepts outside hardware and whether air, hydro or immersion equipment is supported.
  8. Payouts: Ask about pool fees, payout thresholds, payment frequency, stale shares, wallet control and whether displayed revenue is gross or net.
  9. Taxes and logistics: Clarify sales tax, import duties, shipping responsibility and local data-center restrictions.

MiningStore’s material discusses curtailment in markets including MISO, SPP and ERCOT. Simple Mining also notes that direct purchases and marketplace purchases can have different repair coverage. These distinctions should be reflected in the contract, not merely in a sales page.

Hosted mining versus the alternatives

Option Main advantage Main risk
Hosted ASIC Professional power, cooling and operations without building a facility Host, contract, uptime and custody risk
Home mining Direct control over equipment Noise, heat, electrical limits, residential rates and maintenance
Cloud mining No hardware logistics No direct ownership and greater counterparty or withdrawal risk
Self-operated industrial mining Maximum operational control and scale Large capital, power, permitting and technical requirements
Buying BTC directly No electricity, hardware or hosting operations No mining-related cash flow or equipment exposure

Recommendations by buyer type

  • One ASIC: Start with Simple Mining or Compass, then compare the complete contract rather than the headline rate.
  • Small fleet: Simple Mining is the clearest retail-oriented fit; MiningStore may be stronger if reporting and operational support matter more than self-service simplicity.
  • Larger or managed deployment: Evaluate MiningStore’s standard hosting separately from its fee-bearing managed program, and request a site-specific quote from Wattum.
  • Marketplace shopper: Blockware offers a useful combination of inventory, machine-level information and hosting.
  • Infrastructure scaling: Wattum’s broader equipment and facility capabilities may be relevant, subject to site-level contract review.
  • Exit flexibility: Do not assume any platform is flexible. Ask specifically about contract duration, relocation, resale and removal before purchase.

Bottom line

For most retail buyers, Simple Mining is the most straightforward starting point. MiningStore is better aligned with larger fleets and reporting-heavy operations, Wattum with broader infrastructure needs, Blockware with marketplace-led purchases and Compass with accessible single-miner hosting.

That is a fit-based shortlist, not a ranking of realized customer returns. The most profitable choice is the provider that gives your exact ASIC the best combination of all-in cost, effective uptime, repair performance, curtailment treatment and contract flexibility after every fee is included.
