The $249 Oura Ring Gen 3 price has appeared in past coverage and a secondary deal listing, while the 45%-off LG C4 claim appears to refer to a historical promotion. No reliable current listing establishes a $70 Instant Pot Duo or 25%-off winter-fashion offer. Treat these as prices to verify—not savings you can count on.
Deal status at a glance
Checked August 18, 2026. A live retailer product page and checkout price are needed to confirm a deal; historical coverage or a search listing is not enough.

| Claim | What is established | Status |
|---|---|---|
| Oura Ring Gen 3 for $249 | Past holiday coverage reported $249, reduced from $299, at Best Buy. A secondary listing has also shown a Gen 3 Heritage at $249 through Amazon, but does not establish current stock, seller, condition or warranty. | Historical price; current availability unconfirmed |
| LG C4 OLED at 45% off | LG’s November 2024 announcement included a promotion on an 83-inch C4. LG’s current promotions page advertises selected OLED savings, but does not verify 45% off a C4. | Historical/model-specific claim; not confirmed live |
| Instant Pot Duo for $70 | No reliable current listing establishes the exact Duo model, capacity, retailer or price. | Unverified |
| 25% off winter fashion | No retailer, eligible items, code, dates or exclusions are established. | Unverified and too broad to assess |
Oura Ring Gen 3 at $249: a past price, not a confirmed current offer
The $249 figure has precedent: TechRadar’s past holiday coverage reported a Gen 3 price of $249, down from $299, at Best Buy. A secondary deal listing has also shown a Gen 3 Heritage at $249 through Amazon. Neither source confirms a currently available listing or its seller, condition, warranty, or inventory.
Oura’s promotions guidance, updated June 29, 2026, says partner discounts generally apply to Ring 4 unless a promotion specifies otherwise, and promotions generally cannot be combined or stacked. That is not confirmation of an official Ring 3 promotion.

What to check before buying an older ring
- Confirm the listing says Gen 3 and identifies Heritage or Horizon, rather than assuming a deal for one generation applies to another.
- Check whether it is new, refurbished, used or open-box; verify the seller, included charger, sizing-kit availability, return eligibility and warranty.
- Factor in Oura Membership as a recurring cost. Do not assume a retailer price includes membership unless the listing explicitly says so.
- For old or marketplace inventory, battery condition can affect value. Compare the total cost with Ring 4 and consider whether newer hardware is worth the price difference.
Verdict: Consider Gen 3 at $249 only if a reputable seller has a live listing with acceptable condition, returns and warranty. The available evidence supports calling $249 a past price, not a current confirmed deal.
LG C4 OLED at 45% off: verify the size, generation and checkout price
LG’s November 2024 Black Friday announcement described savings of up to 45% on selected large TVs, including an 83-inch C4 promotion. That historical offer does not establish an August 2026 discount. LG’s current promotions page lists savings on selected OLED TVs, including up to $700, but does not verify a 45%-off C4 deal. LG also notes that prices and availability vary by model, retailer, location and inventory.
Model confusion is a real risk: a separate LG promotion result referred to up to 45% off a 77-inch C5, not a C4. Check the exact generation and screen size on the product page rather than relying on a headline or search snippet.

How to test a TV discount
- Match the full model suffix and screen size—C4 sizes include 42, 48, 55, 65, 77 and 83 inches—and confirm the retailer’s current checkout price.
- Compare the sale price with a realistic recent selling price, not only the stated MSRP. To calculate a percentage discount, use the verified reference price and sale price: (reference price − sale price) ÷ reference price.
- Check whether delivery, installation, wall mounting or haul-away costs extra, and read the retailer’s return and warranty terms.
- Consider room conditions and use. OLED picture quality and gaming features may suit some buyers, but a bright room or frequent static imagery may make a mini-LED or QNED alternative a better fit.
Verdict: Do not call this 45% off a current C4 deal without a live listing that identifies the exact C4 size, seller, valid reference price, sale dates and checkout total. LG’s general OLED promotion is not proof of that specific claim.
Instant Pot Duo for $70: the model number matters
“Duo” covers multiple multicookers, capacities, generations and retailer-specific configurations. Duo Plus and Duo Crisp are different products, too. The available evidence does not confirm a current $70 offer, so there is no established retailer, capacity, model number, included accessories or price basis to evaluate.
Before treating $70 as a deal
- Find the exact model number and capacity, and confirm the listing is a standard Duo rather than a related model or bundle.
- Check whether the price is for a new unit and whether a coupon, app activation or membership is required.
- Compare the price with the product’s usual selling price, not just its MSRP. Include shipping and verify warranty and return terms.
- Compare similarly sized Duo Plus or other multicookers only after the basic model and capacity are clear.
Verdict: Without an exact live product page and checkout price, the $70 claim is unverified—not a confirmed saving.

“25% off winter fashion” needs a named retailer and terms
A category-wide percentage does not tell shoppers what is actually discounted. In August, “winter fashion” could mean prior-season clearance, early cold-weather stock or a recycled promotion; the evidence identifies no retailer or offer to distinguish among them.
Before relying on the claimed discount, look for the retailer, eligible products, whether the offer is sitewide or selected styles, any code or minimum spend, and the promotion’s end date. Check exclusions for sale items, premium brands and new arrivals, plus shipping, return costs and final-sale rules. A 25% markdown is not automatically good value if it applies to inflated list prices or products you cannot return.
Verdict: No specific 25%-off winter-fashion deal can be verified from the available details. Do not treat the percentage as a usable offer until the store and terms are identified.

How to decide whether a deal is worth buying
Judge the total transaction rather than the headline percentage. A useful check is to confirm the exact item and configuration, compare the price with a credible recent selling price, and add any recurring costs or fees before deciding.
- Product: Match the generation, model, size, capacity, finish and condition.
- Seller: Confirm who sells and fulfills the item, and check return and warranty coverage.
- Total cost: Include subscriptions, required accessories, shipping, delivery, installation and any coupon or membership condition.
- Availability: Confirm it can be ordered and delivered to your location; note an expiration date or “while supplies last” terms only if the retailer states them.
- Alternative value: Compare an older product with a newer model or another product that costs only slightly more.
For these four claims, the practical distinction is straightforward: the Oura price has historical precedent but is not confirmed live; the LG discount is tied to old or potentially mismatched promotions; and the Instant Pot and fashion offers lack enough detail to validate. Check the retailer’s product page and final checkout total before placing an order, since price, stock and terms can change.
