Tim Goyder’s Mosman Park home reportedly sold for $22.75 million, which PerthNow described as a new Western Australian property-price high for 2025. That is a time-bound annual record claim—not WA’s all-time residential sale record: REIWA says a different Mosman Park estate sold for $57.5 million in 2009 and still holds that distinction.
What sold, for how much, and when?
PerthNow reported the $22.75 million sale on 30 August 2025. Opteon’s later prestige-market review identifies the property as 24 Saunders Street, Mosman Park, and dates the transaction to February 2025. The report date and the sale date are therefore not the same.
Opteon describes the property as a three-storey, architect-designed family home built in 2016, with expansive river and city views. PerthNow said the sale was off-market; it noted that only view images were posted online at the time, so the available public images did not show the full home.
Who bought the home, and who handled the sale?
PerthNow reported that agent Justin Davies handled the sale and described the buyer as a retired medical specialist. Business News’s accessible summary names the buyer as former top doctor Bernard Hockings.

PerthNow also quoted Davies saying: “When people are living in a luxurious home, the issue is: why leave, and where to?” The article recalled a separate earlier House That! interview in which Goyder said: “There’s nothing flashy about us — and that’s a quote.” That remark was not presented as a comment made during the 2025 sale.
What does “2025 property price record” mean?
The record framing belongs to PerthNow’s report of a new 2025 high. It is not a claim that the sale became WA’s all-time most expensive residential transaction. REIWA identifies a separate estate at 43 Saunders Street, Mosman Park, as the state record: it sold for $57.5 million in 2009 and, according to REIWA, still holds that distinction.

The sources available here do not establish a complete official year-end ranking of every WA residential sale in 2025. Landgate’s report covers registered sales for the week ending 18 May 2025, not the full year. It lists a $21.5 million sale at The Coombe among that week’s ten highest registered sales, which is a useful dated snapshot but not an annual statewide league table.

| Figure | What it refers to | Source and time frame |
|---|---|---|
| $22.75 million | Reported sale of Goyder’s Mosman Park home, identified by Opteon as 24 Saunders Street | PerthNow reported the sale on 30 August 2025; Opteon dates the transaction to February 2025 |
| $21.5 million | Sale at 2 The Coombe, Mosman Park | Opteon cites an April 2025 sale; Landgate separately lists a $21.5 million The Coombe sale in its report for the week ending 18 May 2025 |
| $10.25 million | Average sale price for Saunders Street—not the price of Goyder’s home | REIWA, 2025 |
| $57.5 million | Sale of a separate estate at 43 Saunders Street; WA’s all-time record according to REIWA | Sold in 2009; REIWA says it still holds the state distinction |
The comparisons describe different things: an individual 2025 sale, another prestige sale, a street average, and a historic state record. The Saunders Street average is not a valuation or sale price for 24 Saunders Street.
