Find and replace yours safely.Free scan · under a minuteTikTok Coins are prepaid virtual items used to send Gifts during eligible LIVE streams and, in some cases, to pay for TikTok services such as Promote. They are not cash, a bank balance, or a transferable currency. The price and available packages depend on your country, currency, purchase channel, payment method, and account.
In the United States, you must be a registered TikTok user and at least 18 to buy Coins. Availability and minimum age rules can differ by location. Before paying, check the total shown at checkout and make sure you are using an official TikTok or app-store payment screen.

How to buy Coins in the TikTok app
The standard in-app route is through your TikTok balance:
- Open TikTok and tap Profile.
- Tap the Menu ☰ button in the upper-right corner.
- Select Balance.
- Tap Get Coins.
- Choose a Coin package.
- Tap Recharge and complete the payment through Apple’s App Store or Google Play, depending on your device.
The app store processes the in-app transaction. Its payment method, account settings, and approval requirements can therefore affect whether the purchase succeeds.

How to recharge while watching a LIVE
You can also start a Coin purchase from an eligible LIVE:
- Open the LIVE stream.
- Tap the Gift button at the bottom of the screen.
- Tap Recharge in the Gifts panel.
- Select a Coin package.
- Follow the app-store payment instructions.
If the Gift button is not visible, Gifts are unavailable for that LIVE. Buying Coins will not make gifting available on a stream that does not support it.
How to buy Coins on TikTok’s website
Website purchases can be made at www.tiktok.com/coin:
- Open the official TikTok Coin page and sign in to the correct account.
- Choose a Coin package.
- Click Recharge.
- Review the displayed total, currency, and payment details.
- Complete payment using the method TikTok offers.
A third-party payment provider handles the website transaction. Your card issuer or payment provider could add foreign-transaction or currency-conversion fees, so the amount on your statement may differ from the displayed TikTok price. Website availability is also country-dependent.

How much do TikTok Coins cost?
There is no single worldwide Coin price table. TikTok can show different packages and per-Coin prices based on factors such as:
- your country and local currency;
- the package size;
- whether you buy in the app or on the website;
- the app store or payment provider; and
- taxes, conversion costs, or other transaction charges.
Do not assume that buying through the website is always cheaper than buying in the app. Compare the final totals available to your account at the time of purchase, including any fee your bank or card provider may charge.
Redeeming a TikTok Coin gift card
If gift-card redemption is supported in your location, use TikTok’s official page:
- Go to www.tiktok.com/coin/redeem.
- Enter the gift-card PIN.
- Submit the code.
Redemption is not available in every country. A card purchased in one country may not work with an account or redemption service in another. Avoid sellers that promise a code will bypass regional restrictions.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches2Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problems3Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteWhat Coins are used for
Coins can be spent on supported TikTok Virtual Items, including Gifts, and on certain TikTok services. When you send a Gift, TikTok deducts the number of Coins displayed for that Gift. The Gift is not a direct cash transfer to the creator.
Coins and Diamonds are different: viewers purchase Coins, while Diamonds are associated with creator popularity and rewards. You do not buy Diamonds as a substitute for Coins.
Coins also cannot be exchanged for cash, used as general-purpose money, or bought, sold, transferred, or exchanged with another TikTok user. Treat a Coin purchase as spending on a digital in-app item—not as holding an asset with resale value.
Checking your balance and purchase history
Your balance should update when Coins are purchased or used. TikTok’s Virtual Items Policy identifies two relevant records:
| Record | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Transaction History | How much you spent buying Coins |
| Coin History | Coins purchased and how they were used for Gifts or TikTok services |
The exact location of these records can vary by app version, platform, and region. If a purchase does not appear, check both TikTok’s records and the receipt history for the Apple App Store, Google Play, card, or payment provider used.
Refunds and cancellations
The correct refund route depends on where you paid:
| Where you bought | What to do |
|---|---|
| Google Play in-app purchase | In TikTok, go to Profile → Menu ☰ → Settings and privacy → Report a problem and submit the request. |
| Apple App Store or another app store | Contact the relevant app store directly. |
| TikTok website | Website Coins are generally not returnable or refundable once made available, except where required by law or when the Coins are defective. |
| Gift already sent | Activated Gifts are consumed immediately and are generally not returnable or refundable under TikTok’s U.S. policy. |
A refund request may cause TikTok to freeze the related Coins. If the refund succeeds, TikTok can deduct those Coins from your account or from later purchases if your balance is too low. Keep the receipt and record the transaction ID before contacting support.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. Why “Balance,” “Get Coins,” or “Recharge” may be missing
- Age restriction: your account may not meet the applicable minimum age.
- Regional availability: Coin purchases, Gifts, website purchases, and gift-card redemption are not available everywhere.
- LIVE restrictions: a particular LIVE may not support Gifts.
- Payment or app-store problem: the store account, card, payment method, or checkout service may be unavailable.
If the feature is missing across the app, check your account region and eligibility rather than repeatedly attempting payment. If it is missing only from one LIVE, that stream may simply not allow Gifts.

Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFind Drivers →Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →What to do when payment fails or Coins do not appear
- Do not immediately buy the package again. First check whether your card or app-store account was charged.
- Check TikTok’s Coin and transaction records.
- Check your Apple, Google Play, bank, or payment-provider receipt.
- Allow time for a pending transaction to resolve, then contact the payment channel that processed it.
- If a Google Play purchase needs a qualifying refund or cancellation request, use TikTok’s Report a problem route.
A failed, returned, or unpaid payment can affect access to TikTok’s Virtual Items or the account itself. Avoid disputing a charge before checking whether the Coins were delivered, since a payment reversal can lead to Coins being frozen or deducted.
Protecting yourself from Coin scams
Do not enter your TikTok password, payment details, or gift-card PIN into a “free Coin generator,” unofficial reseller, or link sent by a stranger. TikTok warns that offers of free Coins or unusually discounted incentives can be phishing attempts. Use only the in-app purchase flow, tiktok.com/coin, or the official redemption page.
Also be cautious of anyone asking you to buy Coins and send Gifts in exchange for money, guaranteed winnings, or a promised refund. Coins are not transferable cash, and a sent Gift is normally consumed immediately.
FAQ
Can I buy TikTok Coins without the app?
Yes, where website purchases are supported. Sign in at www.tiktok.com/coin, choose a package, click Recharge, and review the final checkout total. Availability and pricing vary by region.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →Outbyte PC Repair FREEClear out junk files and repair common Windows errorsFree Scan →Why can’t I see the Gift button on TikTok LIVE?
TikTok says Gifts are unavailable for that LIVE when the Gift button is missing. This does not necessarily indicate a problem with your account or phone.
Are TikTok Coins refundable?
It depends on the purchase channel and local law. App-store purchases generally follow the relevant store’s process. Website Coins are generally nonrefundable once delivered, except where required by law or when defective. Gifts that have been activated are generally not refundable.
Are TikTok Coins and Diamonds the same?
No. Coins are purchased by viewers and used for supported Gifts or TikTok services. Diamonds are associated with creator popularity and rewards; they are not the same balance and are not bought as Coins.
The Bottom Line
Use Profile → Menu ☰ → Balance → Get Coins in the app, start from Gift → Recharge during an eligible LIVE, or use TikTok’s official Coin page. Check the complete price before paying, because packages and fees vary. Coins have no cash value, Gifts are usually final once sent, and third-party “free Coin” offers are a security risk.
