The public opening was advertised for 21 November 2025. PerthNow separately reported an invitation launch on the evening of 14 November, so the earlier event was distinct from the advertised public opening. Later coverage by Broadsheet in March 2026 described Tigerfish as operating at the hotel.
Where is Tigerfish, and what should visitors know before going?
The venue is at The Cottesloe Beach Hotel, 104 Marine Parade, Cottesloe WA 6011. The hotel’s venue page says walk-ins are welcome at the bar and describes the dining room as a table-service space with an extended menu. Check the hotel’s Tigerfish page for current venue information.

Opening hours and day-by-day availability were not established in the available venue pages and coverage. Check the official venue pages before setting out for a particular service or relying on a walk-in seat. The hotel’s Tigerfish page has displayed an “OPENING SOON” banner despite the later opening coverage; that banner does not reflect the reported opening timeline.
Bar or dining room: which experience fits?
| Option | Service and access | Best suited to | Menu |
|---|---|---|---|
| Front bar | Walk-ins welcome, according to the hotel; Broadsheet describes this section as walk-in-only. | Spontaneous drinks, snacks or a more casual stop. | Bar menu. |
| Dining room | Table service. | A longer meal and conversation. | Extended menu. |
Broadsheet described the walk-in front section as occupying more than half the venue. Seating rules and availability can change, so treat that report as a description rather than a guarantee for a particular visit.
What food and drinks does Tigerfish serve?
The menus centre on shareable food, with seafood and Western Australian produce alongside Southeast Asian flavours. Launch coverage offered examples including Albany rock oysters with red nahm jim, crispy rice cake with red curry and kaffir lime mayonnaise, and prawn toast spring rolls. Broadsheet later highlighted house-made fish finger bao and banana-leaf roasted fish with chef Steven Ryu’s green curry sauce. These are reported examples, not confirmation that each dish is on the menu now; consult the current official menus for available dishes and drinks.

It also reported a wine selection spanning European and Australian bottles, with sake, soju and sochu among the drinks. Who is behind Tigerfish?
At launch, PerthNow identified Mark Rutter as venue manager, Steven Ryu as executive chef and Brendan Scott Grey as bartender and drinks-program collaborator. The three described a venue shaped by both its coastal setting and Southeast Asian references.
