What TIDAL’s songwriter dashboard does
The tools were announced for US songwriters, with launch coverage emphasizing independent creators. TIDAL said the dashboard was free and used information from its catalog and third-party data. It organizes works into categories such as completed works, works without recordings, and unmatched works, helping a songwriter see where credits or associated recordings may need attention.
Eligible writers could claim a TIDAL profile after documentation verification. Launch reporting described eligibility in terms of having a performing rights organization (PRO) and an Interested Party Information (IPI) number. The dashboard can show IPI, PRO, and publisher details, alongside track or album metadata and royalty splits. Songwriters can inspect the information and propose changes; a proposed correction is not proof that a rights organization or distributor has updated its records.
What the categories can tell you
- Completed works: works represented in TIDAL’s data with associated recordings and royalty information.
- Works without recordings: works for which the dashboard does not show a matching recording.
- Unmatched works: possible works or recordings that may not be connected correctly in the catalog.
These groupings are useful for identifying records to check, not a guarantee that every composition is found, correctly matched, or earning royalties.

How to access and use the tools
The launch workflow was through TIDAL Artist Home. TIDAL’s Artist Home terms generally provide direct profile access to artists and authorized representatives, with access depending on role. Those terms are platform-wide and do not independently establish every detail of the songwriter feature.
- Open TIDAL Artist Home and follow the songwriter profile-claim process described in the dashboard.
- Provide the requested documentation for verification. At launch, reporting said the tool was aimed at writers with a PRO and IPI number.
- Review the listed works and the associated credits, publisher information, recordings, and royalty-related metadata.
- Flag inaccurate or incomplete information through the available correction workflow, then follow up with the relevant distributor, label, publisher, or rights organization as appropriate.
Artist Home terms also note that beta features may change or be discontinued. TIDAL’s general terms place responsibility for material users upload and any required third-party rights or permissions on those users.

What the dashboard does not do
A profile claim or metadata correction is not the same as registering a work with a rights organization, confirming ownership, or initiating a payment. The dashboard is a way to review TIDAL-related information; the launch reports do not say that it guarantees collection, matching, or compensation.
TIDAL’s Artist Resources guidance, updated January 21, 2026, says distributors or labels deliver royalty data and disbursements and are the best contact for payment questions. If a payment is missing or an amount looks wrong, contact the company that distributes or releases the recording, rather than treating the Artist Home dashboard as a payment portal.

How the PRO and MLC routes differ
At launch, TIDAL highlighted AllTrack as an option for songwriters who needed to register with a PRO for performing rights. It also pointed writers to the Mechanical Licensing Collective (MLC) for US mechanical royalties. These serve different rights and workflows; access to TIDAL’s dashboard does not itself complete either registration.

The launch reporting describes options and directions, not a guarantee of payment or collection. It does not establish current fee schedules for these services, so check each organization’s current terms before registering.

Where to go when information or payments are wrong
- A TIDAL credit appears incorrect: review the dashboard entry and submit a proposed correction using the available workflow.
- A work or recording seems absent or unmatched: note the title and identifiers available to you, then check the release information with the label, publisher, or distributor responsible for delivering it.
- You have a royalty-payment question: TIDAL’s current support guidance points to the distributor or label, which delivers royalty data and disbursements.
- You need to understand which rights organization applies: distinguish performing-rights registration from US mechanical-royalty collection and confirm the appropriate route directly with the relevant organization.
The dashboard can make catalog review more accessible, but the underlying records and payment channels remain distributed across the companies and rights organizations involved.
