Jamie Bauer, identified by amNY as a Rise and Resist organizer, said: “We know that people are upset and they don’t like what’s happening, but we have to give them a peaceful venue to show that.”

Cary Andrews told NY1: “My anxiety is so high, with all the lies and all that is going on. And I needed to be able to express myself and to be in community with people that are concerned about our democracy.” These are individual perspectives, not statements on behalf of every person at the march.
