The offers have expired and should not be treated as available in 2026. The list covered the wider Boxing Week shopping period, so not every promotion necessarily started on December 26 or remained in stock that day.
MobileSyrup described its list as evolving, and sale dates, stock, configurations and retailer conditions varied. The original roundup remains the primary reference for this 2023 snapshot: Canadian retailers’ top Boxing Day 2023 tech deals.

The strongest examples at a glance
| Category | Example | Listed 2023 price | Reference price | Approximate saving | Why it stood out |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Console | Xbox Series X at The Source | $499.99 | $649.99 | $150 | Large dollar reduction, subject to stock and sale timing |
| Laptop | Gigabyte G5 gaming laptop at Staples | $849.99 | Not stated in the supplied listing | $450 | Substantial advertised saving, but configuration details needed verification |
| Gaming accessory | Razer Sphex V2 mouse mat at Canada Computers | $4.99 | $19.99 | $15 | Very low final price, although the percentage saving was more impressive than the dollar saving |
| Headphones | Apple AirPods Max at Amazon Canada | $679 | Not stated | Not stated | Premium product with a notable listed reduction, but seller and configuration checks mattered |
| Tablet | Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite at The Source | $149.99 | $209.99 | $60 | Affordable tablet pricing, balanced against older hardware |
| Phone promotion | Galaxy S23 through The Mobile Shop | Up to 250,000 PC Optimum points | Not applicable | Not a cash discount | Potentially valuable only after calculating the carrier and redemption terms |
| Digital game | Dead Space through Epic Games Store | $31.99 | $89.99 | $58 | Large digital-game reduction during a sale running beyond Boxing Day |
These are examples of apparent value, not independently tested or price-history-verified winners. A large percentage discount did not automatically make an offer the best purchase.

The Source’s Boxing Week-labelled offers included several wearables and tablets:

- Fitbit Sense 2: $279, previously $329.99
- Fitbit Versa 4: $199.99, previously $259.99
- Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite: $149.99, previously $209.99
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+: $1,049.99, previously $1,249.99
The Xbox Series X was listed at $499.99, down from $649.99. The Turtle Beach Recon 200 Gen 2 headset was listed at $39.99, down from $79.99.
The key caveat was timing. The roundup said The Source had not clearly published an end date and could introduce another promotion closer to December 26. That means these should be read as prices advertised during the holiday period, not as proof that every item was available throughout Boxing Day itself. Older products such as the Galaxy Tab A7 Lite, Galaxy Tab S8+ and Fitbit Sense 2 could still be worthwhile at the right price, but buyers needed to weigh performance, storage and remaining software support against newer models.
GameStop Canada: games, consoles and bundles
GameStop’s highlighted game prices included:
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage: $49.99, regularly $69.99
- EA FC 24: $44.99, regularly $89.99
- Final Fantasy XVI: $49.99, regularly $89.99
- God of War Ragnarök: $39.99 or $49.99, depending on platform, regularly $79.99 or $89.99
- The Last of Us Part I: $49.99, regularly $89.99
- The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild: $49.99, regularly $79.99
Hardware promotions included an Xbox Series S Starter Bundle with three months of Game Pass Ultimate for $299, regularly $379.99, and a PS5 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III bundle at $649.99.
GameStop’s flyer used different start dates for some offers. Consequently, no single list price should be assumed to have applied simultaneously to every game and bundle. Platform was also critical: PS4, PS5, Xbox, Switch and physical editions could have different prices or contents. Buyers needed to confirm the exact platform, whether the item was physical or digital, any upgrade entitlement and the bundle contents.
Canada Computers: PC components and gaming accessories
The PC-focused retailer’s recorded examples were:

- Razer Sphex V2 gaming mouse mat: $4.99, regularly $19.99
- Razer Kiyo webcam: $79.99, regularly $129.99
- Corsair Strafe RGB MK.2 keyboard: $129.99, regularly $219.99

- Logitech Pop Keys keyboard: $59.99, regularly $129.99
The mouse mat had the lowest final price, while the monitors and keyboard had the largest dollar reductions among the listed accessories. However, a monitor deal should be judged by resolution, refresh rate, panel type, ports and intended use—not just the comparison price.
The original retailer link is now best treated as an archival reference because inventory and pricing have changed: Canada Computers.
Dyson: vacuums, air treatment and hair tools
Dyson’s holiday promotion covered the Dyson V8 Origin, V12 Detect Slim Absolute, Gen5outsize Absolute and Gen5detect Absolute, as well as the Airwrap, Supersonic hair dryer, Airstrait and Corrale. Air-treatment products included the Purifier Hot+Cool HP07 and Cool tower fan AM07.
The roundup described savings of roughly $100 to $300, depending on the model. It did not establish that every product had the same discount or that every configuration was still available through the promotion. Several model names may now refer to older or replaced products, so the 2023 discounts should not be used as a guide to Dyson’s current range.
Staples: laptops, tablets and office accessories
Staples’ listed examples included:
- Samsung Galaxy Buds FE: $139.99, saving $40
- Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 FE: $499.99, saving $100
- Lenovo Tab M10 Plus: $259, saving $60
- Razer BlackShark V2 X headset: $49.99, saving $30
- Logitech MK540 keyboard-and-mouse bundle: $49.99, saving $30
- Logitech G502 Hero wireless mouse: $119.99, saving $80
- Asus 15.6-inch laptop: $549, saving $350
- Gigabyte G5 gaming laptop with RTX 4050: $849.99, saving $450
The laptop savings looked especially large, but price alone was not enough to determine value. The supplied roundup did not preserve the Asus and Gigabyte models’ full processor, memory and storage configurations. Those specifications—and, for the Gigabyte, the exact RTX 4050 implementation—would have needed checking before purchase. A low price on limited RAM or storage could be less attractive than a smaller discount on a better-equipped machine.

The Mobile Shop: points rather than a simple phone markdown
The Mobile Shop promotion was fundamentally different from the other offers. Selected phones came with up to these PC Optimum point amounts:
- iPhone 14: up to 200,000 points
- iPhone 14 Pro: up to 100,000 points
- iPhone 15: up to 100,000 points
- Samsung Galaxy S23: up to 250,000 points
The amount depended on the participating carrier, upfront payment and monthly financing arrangement. It was therefore not accurate to treat 100,000 or 250,000 points as an immediate cash discount. The proper comparison required adding the upfront device cost, monthly financing, required plan cost and any tab or contract obligations, then considering how and when the points could be redeemed.
The source article displayed an apparent date error: it said the promotion was valid until January 3, 2023, even though the roundup was published in December 2023. That date should be treated as inconsistent rather than silently changed to January 3, 2024. Readers would have needed to confirm the actual expiry and all carrier conditions with The Mobile Shop.
Epic Games Store: a holiday digital sale overlapping Boxing Day
The Epic Games Store sale was listed as running from December 13, 2023, through January 10, 2024. It was therefore a broader holiday digital-games sale that included Boxing Day, not a one-day-only Boxing Day event.
- Alan Wake II: $53.49, with a bonus copy of Alan Wake Remastered
- Assassin’s Creed Mirage: $48.99
- The Crew Motorfest: $44.99, regularly $89.99
- Dead Space: $31.99, regularly $89.99
- Hogwarts Legacy: $47.99, regularly $79.99
- Mortal Kombat 1: $53.99, regularly $89.99
- Remnant 2: $38.99, regularly $64.99
- Star Wars Jedi: Survivor: $44.99, regularly $89.99
These were PC digital purchases tied to the Epic Games Store. They could not automatically substitute for console editions, and buyers needed to check system requirements and multiplayer requirements before purchasing.

Amazon Canada: smart-home products, phones and audio
Amazon’s promotion was described partly by maximum category discounts:
- Fire TV devices: up to 50% off
- Ring products: up to 38% off
- Fire tablets: up to 27% off
- Echo Show devices and smart-home bundles: up to 45% off
- Kindle e-readers: up to 28% off
- Selected Echo and smart-home products: up to 60% off
Other listed prices included Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro discounts, Samsung Galaxy S23 at $949, Google Pixel Buds Pro at $179, Sony WH-1000XM5 at $398, Bose QuietComfort Ultra at $329, AirPods Pro 2 at $269, AirPods 2 at $128, AirPods 3 at $199 and AirPods Max at $679.
Amazon’s marketplace structure made seller verification essential. A product page could include multiple sellers, and price, warranty, shipping and return conditions could differ. The advertised percentage might also apply only to a particular colour, storage tier or configuration. Buyers needed to identify whether the item was sold directly by Amazon or by a third party before comparing it with a retailer’s offer.
Best deals by shopper type
For gamers
The Xbox Series X at $499.99 was the clearest hardware example by dollar savings, while the Xbox Series S bundle added three months of Game Pass Ultimate. GameStop’s discounted games and Epic’s Dead Space price offered lower-cost ways to expand an existing library. Platform and availability mattered more than the headline discount.

For students
The Galaxy Tab A7 Lite at $149.99 was the lowest-cost tablet example, while Staples’ Lenovo Tab M10 Plus and Galaxy Tab S9 FE offered alternatives at $259 and $499.99. Students comparing these products needed to consider keyboard support, storage, software support and whether a laptop was required for their coursework.

For home-office buyers
The Logitech MK540 bundle, Razer Kiyo webcam and Canada Computers monitors were the most directly relevant offers. A monitor’s inputs, resolution and refresh rate could matter more than the advertised percentage reduction.
For smart-home buyers
Amazon’s Fire TV, Ring, Echo, Kindle and smart-home category discounts provided the broadest selection. Buyers needed to check ecosystem compatibility, subscription requirements and the exact seller.
For Apple buyers
Amazon’s listed AirPods prices and The Mobile Shop’s iPhone points promotions were the main Apple-related examples. The AirPods were straightforward product prices; the iPhone offer required a separate calculation of financing, plan cost and points redemption.
Free tools Windows power users keep installed
One-click scans. No signup required.
For Android buyers
The listed Samsung Galaxy S23 price at Amazon and The Mobile Shop’s Galaxy S23 points offer represented different deal types. The Amazon price was a product-price comparison; the Mobile Shop promotion depended on carrier terms.
For PC builders and enthusiasts
Canada Computers was the most relevant retailer for monitors, keyboards, webcams and gaming peripherals. Its offers were strongest for shoppers who already knew the specifications they needed and could confirm stock and any account or member-pricing requirements.
For gift shoppers
Lower-cost accessories such as the Razer Sphex V2, Logitech Pop Keys and Razer BlackShark V2 X were easier to evaluate than carrier promotions or highly configured laptops. Even so, compatibility and return terms remained important.
How to interpret a historical Boxing Day deal
- Separate the deal type. A markdown, bundle bonus, loyalty-points offer and carrier-financing promotion do not have the same value.
- Calculate the final cost. Include tax, shipping, activation fees, monthly plan charges and any required subscription.
- Check the exact model. Similar product names can conceal different storage, processors, displays or regional versions.
- Confirm the date. “Boxing Day” coverage often includes Boxing Week offers that began earlier or ended later.
- Check stock and seller. “While supplies last” language and marketplace sellers can materially change the purchase conditions.
- Use the comparison price carefully. “Regularly priced at” describes the retailer’s reference price; it does not prove a long-term market average or product value.
- Review returns and warranty. The roundup did not independently establish these terms for every item.
What this roundup can—and cannot—tell you
This was a retailer-promotion roundup, not an independent buying guide. It did not provide hands-on testing, long-term ownership results or comprehensive price-history analysis. Its value today is as a record of what Canadian retailers advertised around the 2023 holiday period.
Readers looking for current products should not use the expired links as live offers. Current shopping pages are available from Best Buy Canada, including its deals page, and Canada Computers. Current prices, stock and promotions will differ from the 2023 snapshot. Amazon Canada, Staples, GameStop Canada, Dyson Canada, The Source, The Mobile Shop and Epic Games Store likewise require a fresh check of price, seller, eligibility and availability.
Quick Recap
