Roasters Specialty Coffee House served it in Dubai on 13 September 2025. That is a price for one prepared cup—not the price of a bag of beans or a coffee auction lot.
The available primary evidence does not establish ten comparable current café prices, so a reliable “top 10” ranking would be misleading. Here is what the record and the related auction figures do establish, with each price kept in its proper category.

What is the most expensive cup of coffee in the world?
Guinness World Records lists the most expensive cup at 2,500 AED (reported as US$680), achieved by Roasters Specialty Coffee House in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on 13 September 2025. Guinness describes it as a hand-brewed V60 filter coffee made with Hacienda La Esmeralda Geisha from Panama. Guinness World Records’ entry is the strongest verified cup-price evidence available here.
The record is a specific café experience at a specific place and date. It does not establish that other cafés charge similar prices, or that the coffee’s beans alone are worth US$680 per cup.

Why a coffee auction price is not a cup price
Rare coffees can command striking auction prices, but green beans sold by the kilogram are a different product from a brewed drink sold by a café. The auction price does not include a café’s preparation and service, and it cannot be converted into a real selling price per cup without assumptions about dose size, roast loss, brewing yield, sorting, shipping, taxes, and other costs.
Hacienda La Esmeralda’s 2025 auction lot
At the 2025 Best of Panama auction, Hacienda La Esmeralda’s washed Geisha lot GW-01 sold for US$30,204 per kilogram, or US$604,080 for the 20-kilogram lot. Panama’s tourism authority reported that Julith Coffee, based in Dubai, bought the lot. These are auction figures for green coffee, not a café menu price or a retail bag price. Why Panama Geisha coffee can be so expensive
The record cup and the auction benchmark both involve Geisha from Hacienda La Esmeralda, but they describe separate transactions: one brewed drink and one large lot of green coffee. The record entry identifies the coffee as Panama Geisha and the preparation as V60 filter brewing; the auction report identifies the washed Geisha lot and its sale price. Neither source makes the auction lot’s per-kilogram price a typical market value for Geisha or the price of beans in a consumer bag.

High-profile auction results can reflect competition for a particular lot. They are useful context for the value some buyers place on rare, traceable coffees, but they should not be treated as a general price guide.
Why there is no reliable top 10 ranking here
A ranked list of the ten most expensive cups would require ten verifiable served-cup prices, each tied to a venue, date, and clear pricing basis. The available primary sources establish one record cup and a separate auction benchmark; they do not establish ten current café menu prices.
Rank #4
- One bag of 2.2lb Lavazza Espresso Barista Gran Crema Whole Bean Coffee Blend
- Roast: Dark
- Intensity: 7/10
- Taste: Full-bodied
- Aromatic Notes: Honey and roasted coffee
A secondary luxury-directory result has mentioned a Japanese Typica Natural coffee served at SHOT London for more than £265 per cup, but it does not provide adequate primary confirmation of a current menu price or a world ranking. Without direct venue confirmation, that claim should not be presented as a verified entry. A ranking that mixes such a report with documented menu prices—or adds bean-bag and auction prices—would imply comparability the evidence does not support.

- Served cup: A drink sold by a café, with a venue and service attached. The Guinness entry is this kind of price.
- Retail package: Roasted beans sold in a package. Its price depends on the package size and seller; it is not a per-cup price.
- Green-coffee auction lot: Unroasted coffee sold in a specified quantity, often to buyers competing for a distinct lot. It is neither a consumer bag nor a prepared drink.
Before comparing headlines, check the unit, quantity, date, currency, coffee identity, and whether the price is a café sale, retail offer, or auction result. Without those details, “most expensive coffee” can refer to very different things.
