Capitol Markets’ October 8, 2026 ranking lists Nancy Pelosi, at an estimated $156.1 million, and Suzan K. DelBene, at an estimated $131.7 million, among the top 25 disclosed-net-worth midpoints across Congress and the Cabinet. Those are midpoint estimates based on financial-disclosure ranges—not audited totals or a complete ranking of the wealthiest women in Congress. The figures also may reflect spouses’ holdings, not just a lawmaker’s individual assets.
Who are the wealthiest congresswomen in the United States?
The strongest current ranking available for this comparison is Capitol Markets’ table updated October 8, 2026, using 2025 as its most recent filing year shown. Its displayed top 25 includes these two women:
| Lawmaker | Estimated disclosed net worth | Filing and ranking context |
|---|---|---|
| Nancy Pelosi | Approximately $156.1 million | Capitol Markets midpoint estimate; 2025 is the most recent filing year shown in the ranking |
| Suzan K. DelBene | Approximately $131.7 million | Capitol Markets midpoint estimate; 2025 is the most recent filing year shown in the ranking |
Capitol Markets’ Congress net-worth ranking combines members of Congress with Cabinet officials. Its displayed top 25 is not a women-only ranking, and it does not establish that Pelosi and DelBene are definitively the two wealthiest congresswomen overall. The values are secondary estimates derived from disclosures, not exact statements of personal wealth.
How are members of Congress’ net worths calculated?
Financial disclosures generally report assets and liabilities in value ranges rather than exact amounts. Capitol Markets says it estimates net worth by taking the midpoint of each reported asset and liability range and calculating the difference. That approach makes a ranking possible, but the resulting figure is an approximation shaped by the ranges and the publisher’s method.
#1 Best Overall
- Assets and liabilities: The calculation uses disclosed asset and debt ranges, rather than a complete, independently appraised balance sheet.
- Personal residences: Capitol Markets says residences are usually excluded unless they generate income.
- Salary: Congressional salary is not included in the disclosed-asset figure.
- Household holdings: Disclosures include spousal assets and liabilities, so a ranking estimate can represent household finances rather than wealth held by the member alone.
Capitol Markets reported a $2.1 million median and a $26.4 million average disclosed net worth across 565 members of Congress and Cabinet officials with filings in its 2026 analysis, including 537 people then in office. Those statistics describe that combined group—not congresswomen specifically.
How much is Nancy Pelosi worth?
The answer depends on what “worth” means and which filing and calculation are being cited. Capitol Markets’ October 8, 2026 ranking places Pelosi’s disclosed-net-worth midpoint at approximately $156.1 million. This is a ranking-site estimate from disclosure ranges, not a precise or independently audited measure of her individual wealth.
Rank #2
Household attribution is especially important here. PolitiFact’s 2025 examination of Pelosi’s 2023 disclosure said most of the assets and liabilities it reviewed were held solely by her husband, Paul Pelosi. The filing-based household estimate therefore should not automatically be described as Nancy Pelosi’s personal net worth.
Why can congressional net-worth rankings disagree?
Rankings may use different filing years, range calculations, asset coverage, and assumptions about whether disclosed holdings belong to the member or the household. A newer filing-based estimate is not directly comparable to an older figure simply because both are labeled “net worth.”
For example, a separate Congress Stock Tracker ranking places Sara Jacobs in its top 50 using a 2025 filing and its own midpoint calculation, while showing Pelosi with an older 2013 filing. That difference in filing vintage alone makes the lists unsuitable for a direct, like-for-like comparison without checking their methods and dates.

For the underlying House report, use the House Clerk’s public financial-disclosure page. The filing provides the reported ranges and household context; a ranking publisher’s midpoint estimate is a secondary calculation based on that information. Check the report year and whose assets or liabilities are listed before treating an estimate as an individual wealth figure.
