The resort now lists public access to that course on specified days and times. That is separate from the resort’s later redevelopment plans: its 14-hole short course was announced as under construction in 2026, with an early-summer opening planned—not confirmed as complete.
What the 2024 reopening announcement meant
PerthNow reported on 14 May 2024 that the upgraded 18-hole Championship course was set to reopen that month. The report described a configuration combining nine holes each from the existing Lakes and Ellenbrook layouts. The resort’s current visitor information lists public access to the Championship course on specified days and times; check its official website for current access details before visiting.
GolfWA’s 16 May 2024 account described holes 3–11 of Ellenbrook as a retained stand-alone nine-hole course and also referred to a new two-storey driving range. These are descriptions published at different points in the project’s evolution, not proof that every feature in either account was built as described.
What the longer-term golf plan includes
The Western Australian Planning Commission’s August 2025 amendment to the Vines Outline Development Plan describes a future golf package consisting of an 18-hole Championship course, a new driving range, a 14-hole short course, and the Ellenbrook nine holes. A planning document describes a proposed framework; it does not establish that every component has been approved, completed, or opened.

Short course: announced schedule, not confirmed opening
The resort announced on 18 February 2026 that construction of its short course was underway. It estimated construction would take about nine months and planned a public opening in early summer 2026. That was a schedule announced by the resort, not confirmation that the course subsequently opened.
The announced layout uses Lakes holes 1–8 and adds six tee boxes and six greens. The resort estimated a full round would take about two hours and 20 minutes. Both details describe the planned course, rather than a verified visitor experience after opening.

How housing featured in the 2024 proposal
PerthNow’s May 2024 report said the housing proposal had been cut by more than half and described 100 proposed single-storey homes for people over 55, plus 40 premium townhouses. It said the homes were proposed for the existing driving-range area. Those are reported proposal figures, not a count of homes delivered or independently verified approvals.
The 2025 planning amendment describes development sites alongside the future golf package, but the sources cited here do not establish the current approval or construction status of each housing element or the driving range. The plans should therefore be read as dated project descriptions, not one confirmed final design.

Renovation costs and water-saving claim
GolfWA reported in May 2024 that the renovation included an $11 million irrigation system projected to reduce water use by 25 percent. The 25 percent figure was a projected saving reported at the time; it is not evidence of a subsequently measured reduction.
The resort is in the Swan Valley, which it describes as about 30 minutes from Perth’s CBD. Its visitor facilities include golf, mini-golf, and accommodation, but access and facility status can change; consult the resort’s current visitor information before making plans.
