The Pear’fect Pantry’s owners announced in June 2024 that they were seeking a buyer for the Perth vegan-friendly cafe. But the sale search was not the final reported outcome: in November 2024, the cafe announced it would close after 15 years. The available reports do not establish that it was sold or what later occupied its premises.
What happened to The Pear’fect Pantry?
PerthNow reported on 10 June 2024 that owners Bee and Mel were looking for a buyer as they pursued other interests. They hoped a new owner would continue the cafe’s concept while bringing fresh ideas. The announcement described a planned handover, not a completed sale. PerthNow’s June 2024 report quoted the owners saying they had made a “bittersweet decision to pass on the torch to a new owner.”
On 2 November 2024, PerthNow reported that the cafe had announced it would close. It asked customers to visit during its final days that week, while stocks lasted. That later announcement superseded the June sale news as the latest reported status in the available coverage; the sources do not say whether a buyer was found or identify a successor business at the address. PerthNow’s closure report covered the announcement.
From Wembley to Osborne Park
The cafe began in Wembley in 2009, according to the June 2024 PerthNow report. A SoPerth dining guide dates its move from Wembley to Osborne Park to 2021. The 15-year history cited in the sale and closure reports therefore spans its earlier Wembley location and its later Osborne Park operation.

The cafe was known for vegan food. A 2014 PerthNow review of its Wembley-era offering described vegan breakfast options, baked goods and coffee; SoPerth’s later guide listed vegan pancakes. These are historical descriptions, not evidence of a current menu. The 2014 review and SoPerth’s vegan dining guide provide that background.
What the sale announcement did—and did not—say
The owners said they were moving on to other interests and hoped someone would carry on what they had built. In the June report, they said, “We feel we help bring veganised food to the mainstream and we are proud of what we have achieved.” PerthNow also reported that more than 100 customers shared appreciative responses to the sale announcement. That figure reflects responses described by the outlet, not a survey of the cafe’s overall popularity.

No current acquisition listing or active opportunity to buy the cafe is established by these reports. The November closure announcement also means the June 2024 appeal for a buyer should be read as historical, not as evidence that a sale is still available.

In a separate matter, PerthNow reported on 9 March 2023 that the owners were fined $4,000 and ordered to pay $622 in costs over a food-description case dated 22 December 2022. The report said the City of Stirling investigated a complaint after a child had an allergic reaction; it described the matter as involving falsely described food under the Food Act 2008. PerthNow’s report on the case does not link it to the owners’ later decision to seek a buyer or the cafe’s closure.
