Online celebrity-wealth estimates should not be treated as confirmed personal finances. What can be verified is the cast’s work before and beyond the ABC comedy: from Everybody Hates Chris and Dreamgirls to stand-up, Broadway, and writing and producing.
What is the net worth of the Abbott Elementary cast?
No reviewed official biography or first-person source substantiates current personal net-worth figures for Quinta Brunson, Tyler James Williams, Janelle James, Chris Perfetti, Lisa Ann Walter, William Stanford Davis, or Sheryl Lee Ralph. Celebrity-net-worth estimate pages do not establish audited assets, liabilities, or a consistent calculation method. There is therefore no sound basis here for ranking the actors by wealth or adding their supposed fortunes into a cast total.

Where have you seen the Abbott Elementary cast before?
Quinta Brunson: comedy, writing, and producing
Brunson is not only the series’ star: ABC identifies her as its creator and showrunner, head writer, and executive producer. Before Abbott Elementary, she made viral comedy videos and worked as a BuzzFeed video producer. She created and starred in projects including Broke and Quinta vs. Everything, and appeared in HBO’s A Black Lady Sketch Show. ABC says her debut book, She Memes Well, was released in June 2021.
Brunson told TIME that the show drew on her mother’s experience teaching in Philadelphia and was named for a middle-school teacher. “I named the show after my middle-school teacher, Ms. Abbott,” she said.
Tyler James Williams: Everybody Hates Chris
Williams is widely recognized for playing young Chris in Chris Rock’s Everybody Hates Chris, which ABC says he starred in for four seasons. His other selected credits include the films Dear White People, Detroit, Peeples, The United States vs. Billie Holiday, and The Wedding Year.
Janelle James: Black Monday and stand-up
Before playing Ava Coleman, James worked as an actor and writer on Showtime’s Black Monday and voiced roles in Apple’s Central Park. ABC also notes her touring stand-up work, her appearance in Netflix’s The Standups, and her debut comedy album, Black and Mild.

Rank #3
Lisa Ann Walter: The Parent Trap and film roles
Walter may be familiar as Chessy in The Parent Trap. Other selected film credits listed by ABC include Shall We Dance, Bruce Almighty, and War of the Worlds. Her work also extends behind the camera: ABC documents her experience as a sitcom creator, writer, producer, and showrunner.
Sheryl Lee Ralph: Dreamgirls and Moesha
Ralph’s earlier work spans stage and screen. ABC Press says she originated Deena Jones in Broadway’s Dreamgirls and appeared in more than 100 episodes of Moesha. Her selected screen credits include Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit, The Mighty Quinn, and Instant Mom.
Chris Perfetti: television and theater
Before Abbott Elementary, Perfetti appeared in HBO’s Looking and The Night Of, as well as The Resident and NBC’s Crossbones. ABC Press also documents his extensive Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theater work.
William Stanford Davis: decades of screen work before Mr. Johnson
Davis’s earlier screen credits include The Bold and the Beautiful, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip, Ray Donovan, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and Lincoln Heights. ABC Press calls Abbott Elementary his “first series regular role of his career.” In a first-person TIME essay published February 9, 2024, Davis recalled that he initially thought his Mr. Johnson guest part might last only a day or two. He wrote: “Four decades later, I’m not only still in Los Angeles, but I’ve found myself at the Emmys as part of the cast of a nominated TV show.”

What the cast’s career histories do—and do not—tell you
The biographies show very different paths into the ensemble: Brunson’s creative leadership, Williams’s early television breakout, Ralph’s stage and screen career, and Davis’s years of work before his first series-regular role. They also show careers across television, film, theater, writing, producing, and stand-up. Those are meaningful professional distinctions, but they do not reveal how much any actor earned or retained. Without attributable financial disclosures or a dependable, transparent calculation, a net-worth ranking would be speculation.
