The Moto G Power 2025 Is Now $100 Off—not $50

Motorola and Best Buy list the unlocked 128GB Moto G Power 2025 for $199.99, $100 below its $299.99 comparison price. The phone adds wireless charging, microSD expansion and a headphone jack, but its security updates are currently scheduled through January 2028.

As of August 18, 2026, Motorola and Best Buy list the unlocked 128GB Moto G Power 2025 for $199.99, down from $299.99. That is $100 off the listed comparison price; the $50-off claim refers to an earlier Amazon promotion at $249.99 on March 10, 2026. At today’s observed price, the older phone is a compelling option if you value battery capacity, durability features, wireless charging and a headphone jack more than long software support or premium cameras.

Where to buy the Moto G Power 2025

Motorola’s US store and Best Buy both show the unlocked 128GB model at $199.99, reduced from $299.99. Motorola’s product page lists a free Moto Tag while supplies last, plus an additional $20 trade-in offer for eligible devices. The Tag is not guaranteed once supplies run out, and trade-in value depends on the device and its eligibility. Best Buy’s listing also shows $199.99, but local availability and fulfillment options can vary by ZIP code.

The $50-off framing came from an Amazon deal reported on March 10, 2026, when the phone was $249.99. That was a dated offer, not the price shown by Motorola and Best Buy on August 18. Check the final checkout price and listing details before ordering; sales, inventory and delivery options can change.

Check the exact model and condition

  • Look for moto g power – 2025, 128GB, unlocked. The standard Moto G 2025 is a different, lower-specification phone.
  • At Best Buy, confirm that the seller is Best Buy and the condition is new if you want the new unlocked retail model. Check carefully for open-box, refurbished, prepaid or different-year listings.
  • At Motorola, verify the selected configuration and checkout total. Review tax, shipping, return terms and any trade-in valuation separately; do not assume every shopper qualifies for the extra trade-in offer.
  • Motorola lists the free Moto Tag as available while supplies last. Its presence on a product page does not guarantee it will be available with every order.

Motorola says a compatible TurboPower charger may be sold separately; the phone’s 30W wired-charging capability does not mean a 30W adapter is necessarily included. Check Motorola’s product details and the package contents for the selected offer.

What you get for $199.99

The US Moto G Power 2025 pairs a large battery and practical extras with a midrange processor and an LCD screen. Motorola’s specifications list an 8GB physical-RAM configuration and 128GB of storage, expandable by microSD up to 1TB. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack, NFC and eSIM support. For the full specifications, see Motorola’s Moto G Power 2025 specifications.

Feature Moto G Power 2025 specification
Display 6.8-inch Full HD+ LCD, 2388 × 1080, adaptive refresh rate up to 120Hz
Processor and memory MediaTek Dimensity 6300, up to 2.4GHz octa-core; 8GB physical RAM
Storage 128GB internal; microSD expansion up to 1TB
Battery and charging 5,000mAh; up to 30W wired and 15W wireless charging
Rear cameras 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization, plus 8MP ultrawide/macro camera
Front camera 16MP
Build and extras IP68/IP69 and MIL-STD 810H claims; stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos; 3.5mm headphone jack
Connectivity 5G, NFC, eSIM, Bluetooth 5.3 and Wi-Fi 5
Software at launch Android 15

Motorola advertises RAM Boost of up to 24GB, but that figure includes storage used as virtual memory; it is not 24GB of physical RAM. The phone’s water- and dust-resistance ratings and MIL-STD 810H claim are not promises that it is indestructible or safe from every drop or exposure. Motorola describes battery life as approximate and dependent on usage and conditions, so the 5,000mAh capacity alone does not establish a guaranteed runtime.

Is the discounted price good value?

At $199.99, the Power 2025 costs $100 less than the $299.99 comparison price shown by Motorola. The feature combination is particularly useful for shoppers who want a Full HD+ high-refresh-rate screen, wireless charging, a large-capacity battery, microSD expansion and a headphone jack in an unlocked phone. Those features may matter more than the newest processor or camera hardware if your needs are everyday calls, messaging, browsing and media.

Carrier unlocked device may retain original carrier logo on start up, while being fully unlocked. New Activation compatible with all Major Carriers in the US and Globally. It is still a budget-to-midrange phone, not a premium-performance or camera choice. The available specifications establish its hardware, but do not by themselves prove real-world battery endurance, low-light camera quality, gaming performance or display brightness. Treat the 30W figure as the phone’s maximum wired-charging capability, not a promise that every adapter or charging session will reach that speed.

How it compares with other Moto G options

Prices below are observed US unlocked-listing prices from the cited Best Buy pages on August 18, 2026; retailer prices and local stock can change.

  • Fluid 120Hz Display: Features a large 6.7-inch HD+ display with a 120Hz refresh rate and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 for smooth scrolling and added durability.
Model Observed price What distinguishes it
Moto G Power 2025, 128GB $199.99 Full HD+ 120Hz screen, 8GB physical RAM, wireless charging and the Power model’s feature mix.
Moto G 2025, 128GB $169.99 Lower price, but a 6.7-inch HD+ display and lower memory configuration in the US model. See Motorola’s Moto G 2025 specifications.
Moto G Power 2026, 128GB $399.99 Newer generation at roughly twice the observed price of the discounted 2025 model.

The listings for the alternatives are on Best Buy’s Moto G search page. The standard Moto G 2025 is a possible lower-cost choice if its display and memory specifications meet your needs. The 2026 Power model is the more recent option, but its observed price is substantially higher. Carrier promotions may change the arithmetic, but compare the full cost, activation conditions and any lock-in terms rather than treating a subsidized price as equivalent to an unlocked purchase.

The main trade-off is the shorter support runway

Motorola’s current support page says the Moto G Power 2025 launched in January 2025 with Android 15, lists Android 16 as its targeted next OS, and schedules security updates through January 2028. As of August 2026, that leaves a shorter stated security-support window than a newly launched phone would typically offer. Motorola says update timing can vary by carrier, region and sales channel, and that schedules may change. See the Moto G Power 2025 software and security update page for its current status.

That support horizon is a meaningful cost of choosing a 2025 model in 2026. If you keep phones for many years or prioritize extended software support, the lower purchase price may not outweigh that limitation. If you expect to replace the phone sooner and value its hardware extras, $199.99 is easier to justify.

Who should buy it—and who should pass

It makes sense if

  • You want an unlocked phone around $200 and do not want a carrier promotion to dictate your service.
  • You value a large battery, wireless charging, microSD expansion or a headphone jack.
  • You want IP-rated protection and a high-refresh-rate Full HD+ screen at a low price, while understanding the limits of durability ratings.

Look elsewhere if

  • Long-term software support is a priority, given Motorola’s current January 2028 security-update schedule.
  • You need a brighter OLED display, strong low-light photography, 4K video, demanding-game performance or a compact phone.
  • You want the newest Moto G Power and are comfortable with the much higher observed price of the 2026 model.

The price and availability figures here were observed on August 18, 2026. Confirm the selected model, condition, configuration and final checkout price with the retailer before purchase.
