A reliable top-15 ranking needs proof of both a car’s manufacturer-stated power and a price above US$1 million. The available manufacturer statements establish power for a few candidates, but do not establish the qualifying price for enough cars to support 15 ranked entries. Here are the figures that can be checked—and why a high horsepower number alone does not qualify a car.
What counts as a car “over $1 million”?
There is no single price measure implied by the phrase. A new-car list could use an original base price or launch price; a collector-car list might instead use a documented resale price. Those are different measures, and a resale price should not be presented as a car’s original MSRP.
For a comparable ranking, set the price rule before sorting: use a disclosed original price above US$1 million, identify its year and market, and include road-going production or customer-delivery models in the main list. Treat track-only vehicles separately. Then rank cars by manufacturer-stated peak output—combined system output for hybrids and EVs, and engine output for combustion cars. Fuel-dependent figures need their fuel qualification alongside the number.
On that basis, the documented figures below are useful comparisons, but they do not establish a definitive top 15. That does not mean 15 qualifying cars do not exist; it means the required price-and-power evidence is not established for enough individual models here.

Manufacturer-stated power figures with price eligibility still unproven

The numbers are not interchangeable measurements: they come from different manufacturers, model versions and, in the Jesko’s case, fuel configurations. The stated units are preserved above rather than silently converted.
Why high-power cars can fail the price test

These examples show why a horsepower leaderboard is not automatically a list of million-dollar cars. A model may exceed the output of a more expensive car and still fail the price condition—or have no documented qualifying price.

Road cars and track-only cars should not be mixed silently
“Car” can mean a road-legal production model, a customer-delivery special, or a track-only machine. Those categories answer different questions about what a buyer can use on public roads. A secondary hypercar ranking separates categories including track-only vehicles, but its classifications do not prove a model’s price or replace a manufacturer’s power statement. A ranked list should label track-only entries rather than fold them into a road-car ranking without notice.

- A consistent price rule: State whether the threshold uses original base price, launch price or a disclosed resale transaction. Include the year, currency and market.
- Model-specific output: Cite the manufacturer’s figure for the exact version and distinguish combined hybrid or EV system output from combustion-engine output.
- Configuration qualifiers: Keep fuel, edition and other conditions attached to the power number, as with the Jesko Absolut’s standard-fuel and E85 figures.
- Clear eligibility: Identify whether each car is road-going, customer-delivery or track-only, and distinguish production cars from concepts or one-offs.
- Comparable units: Preserve the manufacturer’s stated unit or explain any conversion. Do not sort unlike horsepower conventions as if they were necessarily identical.
Once those fields are established for each candidate, the cars can be sorted by peak output. Until then, a numbered top 15 would imply a level of price and power verification that these figures do not support.
