The highest documented completed price in this group is £83,000 for two Led Zeppelin reunion-show tickets sold at a charity auction in 2007. For a comparable single-ticket VIP package, Guinness World Records documents Bon Jovi’s $1,875-per-ticket offer in 2010.
Documented concert-ticket prices, ranked by the stated amount
The examples below are ordered by the amount reported, but they are not equivalent transactions. A pair bought at a charity auction is not the same measure as a single VIP package or a resale listing. Amounts are nominal, in the reported currency, and are not adjusted for inflation.

| 1 | Led Zeppelin, reunion show at London’s O2 Arena, 10 December 2007 | £83,000 for two tickets | Completed Children in Need charity-auction purchase by BBC Radio 2 listener Kenneth Donnell. This is the largest documented completed purchase among these examples, but it is an auction price for a pair, not an ordinary single-ticket face value. Guinness World Records. |
| 2 | Taylor Swift, Eras Tour resale listings, 2022 | Up to $20,000 per ticket | Resale-site listings that appeared within 24 hours of the presale, as recounted by the U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations in its 2026 report. The figure is not evidence of a completed sale; the report says the primary sale did not use dynamic pricing. U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. |
| 3 | Led Zeppelin, 2007 reunion show resale market | Up to £1,800 per ticket | Guinness reports eBay prices at this level amid demand for the public release of 9,000 pairs. The original ticket price was £125; the £1,800 figure is reported resale pricing, not a confirmed completed sale. Guinness also reports more than 20 million ticket requests. Guinness World Records. |
| 4 | Bruce Springsteen, 2022 U.S. tour sale | Offers above $4,000; one cited seat was $3,819 plus $569.50 in fees | The Senate report describes these as Ticketmaster Platinum offers under a dynamic-pricing initiative. Ticketmaster said Platinum tickets accounted for 11.2% of tickets sold. These are reported offers, not a verified record transaction. U.S. Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations. |
| 5 | Bon Jovi, Circle Tour Diamond VIP Experience, United States, 2010 | $1,875 per ticket | A Guinness-documented VIP package with reserved front-row seating, VIP check-in, pre-show hospitality, an open bar and buffet, an on-site host, a signed tour programme, a $150 store voucher, a souvenir ticket, a leather bag and a collectible concert chair. This is a package price, not a standard seat price. Guinness states its currency conversion was correct as of 31 December 2010. Guinness World Records. |
| 6 | The Eagles, Melbourne, 2005 | US$425 (£245) | A Guardian-hosted infographic published in 2006 described this as the world’s most expensive concert ticket in 2005. It is a historical benchmark, not a current all-time record. The Guardian. |
What counts as the “most expensive” ticket?
Face value and VIP package prices
A primary-sale price is the amount set by the seller for a ticket or package. VIP pricing can include hospitality, merchandise and other extras, so it should not be compared directly with the price of an ordinary seat. Bon Jovi’s 2010 $1,875 figure is a documented VIP-package price, and the included benefits materially change what the buyer received.
Resale listings and dynamic offers
A listing shows what a seller is asking, not necessarily what a buyer paid. The Led Zeppelin eBay figure and Swift resale listings are therefore evidence of reported asking prices, not verified records of completed transactions. Springsteen’s Platinum offers are a separate case: the Senate report describes a primary-sale dynamic-pricing initiative, but its cited amounts still do not establish the highest completed purchase ever.

Charity auctions
An auction price can reflect the charitable cause and the bidding process as well as demand for the event. Led Zeppelin’s £83,000 result is a documented purchase for two tickets at a Children in Need auction. It is a real completed price, but dividing the amount by two would not turn it into a normal per-ticket box-office price.
Why there is no definitive global ranking
Record sources document specific categories and cases; they do not provide a complete ledger of every concert-ticket transaction worldwide. Guinness World Records cautions that records can change and are not published online immediately. The Senate report offers recent U.S. examples, but its cited figures include listings and offers rather than a comprehensive record of completed sales. The ranking above is therefore a comparison of documented examples, not proof of the single highest price ever paid for any concert ticket.

To compare any claimed record, check the transaction type, whether it was completed, whether the price is for one ticket or a pair, what was included, and the event year and currency. The figures here are not inflation-adjusted, so older prices are not directly comparable in today’s purchasing power.

The Eras Tour’s overall revenue does not identify its most expensive individual ticket. Guinness World Records, citing Billboard Boxscore, reports a gross of $2,077,618,725 across 149 shows from 17 March 2023 to 8 December 2024, with 10,168,008 tickets sold and an average ticket price of $204.33. Those totals describe tour-wide economics, not a maximum single-ticket price. Guinness World Records.
