Honor of Kings topped the available 2024 mobile-game revenue ranking, with an estimated $2.6 billion. That estimate covers the App Store and Google Play from January 1 through December 17, 2024—not a verified total for every day of the year or every way the game earns money.

The ranking below was reported by PocketGamer.biz using AppMagic estimates for the App Store and Google Play from January 1 through December 17, 2024. The amounts are estimates, not audited figures or developer net income.

PocketGamer.biz’s ranking and AppMagic estimates provide the same stated date window and store coverage for these figures. The available list also places Dungeon & Fighter Mobile ninth, despite its May 21, 2024 launch. PocketGamer.biz separately reports $1.1 billion for that game on China’s App Store alone; that store-specific figure does not include third-party Android revenue.
What the ranking does—and does not—measure
The list is useful for comparing estimated performance within one stated source, period, and set of stores. It should not be read as a complete accounting of each game’s total business. It does not establish revenue from advertising, web shops, third-party app stores, direct publisher channels, or versions on other platforms, and it is not the amount developers received after platform fees and other costs.

The period ends December 17, so the figures do not include the final two weeks of 2024. A complete, consistently documented January 1–December 31 top-ten ranking is not established by the available sources; missing positions should not be inferred.
How the ranking fits the wider mobile-game market
Sensor Tower estimated that global mobile-game in-app purchase revenue reached $82 billion in 2024, up 4% year over year. That is a market-wide estimate, not a total derived from the individual-game figures above. Sensor Tower also reported 3.5 trillion hours spent playing mobile games and 12% year-over-year growth in gaming sessions.

In its annual release, Sensor Tower identified Last War: Survival, Brawl Stars, and MONOPOLY GO! as each having exceeded $1 billion in calendar-year consumer spending. That statement is a separate source’s annual-market finding; it does not make its methodology interchangeable with AppMagic’s December 17-bounded ranking.
Regional results show why a global market number needs context: Sensor Tower reported nearly $24 billion in U.S. mobile-game in-app purchase revenue, up 8%, while its China comparison covered iOS only. Japan’s mobile-game in-app purchase revenue fell 6% versus 2023. Sensor Tower also reported 37% year-over-year growth in in-app purchase revenue for games using hybrid monetization, meaning in-app purchases alongside advertising. That is a category trend, not evidence that each high-earning game used the same monetization mix.

Why a monthly leaderboard can look different
An annual total and a single month answer different questions. Sensor Tower’s December 2024 estimate ranked Last War: Survival first, Pokémon TCG Pocket second, MONOPOLY GO! third, Royal Match fourth, and Roblox fifth. That is a December-only ranking, not a revision of the annual ranking, and Sensor Tower says its estimate excludes third-party Android markets.

When comparing game-revenue rankings, keep the vendor, dates, geography, and store coverage consistent. Also distinguish consumer spending or in-app purchase estimates from developer receipts and from total franchise revenue across platforms.

The leading estimates show that several games generated very large spending through mobile storefronts, but the ranking alone does not explain what each title earned from advertising or other channels, what it cost to operate, or how much reached its publisher. Sensor Tower CEO and cofounder Oliver Yeh described the broader industry shift in the company’s March 11, 2025 release: “The mobile gaming ecosystem has matured, with developers now doubling down on retention, engagement, and monetization.”
