Editor’s note: This deal has expired. Amazon’s 2026 Big Spring Sale ran March 25–31, 2026. During the promotion period, deal coverage reported the unlocked 128GB Google Pixel 9a at $399, down $100 from its $499 reference price. That is a historical price, not a confirmed current offer. As of August 18, 2026, Google lists the Pixel 9a from $499 in the US; check any retailer’s live listing before buying.
What the $399 Pixel 9a deal included
The reported Amazon offer was for the new, unlocked 128GB Google Pixel 9a at $399, compared with a $499 reference price—a $100, or 20%, reduction. Contemporary reports described the price, but do not establish that every color was available at that price or that every Amazon listing had the same seller, condition, or terms. Android Central reported the $399 price; Kotaku also reported the $399 price against a $499 reference.
The discount was not a verified price for the 256GB model. Google’s US configuration page lists 128GB at $499 and 256GB at $599. It lists Obsidian, Porcelain, Iris, and Peony, but that does not mean Amazon stocked every color or offered each at the same price. Google Store configuration and pricing | Google Pixel 9a specifications and colors.
The $100 reduction was a discount against the phone’s reference price, not necessarily the buyer’s final cost. Sales tax, optional protection, accessories, and any carrier-plan requirements affect what you pay. A coupon applied at checkout, trade-in credit, carrier bill credit, or used and refurbished listing is a different kind of offer and should not be treated as the same instant discount.

When Amazon’s Big Spring Sale ran
Amazon scheduled the 2026 Big Spring Sale for March 25 through March 31, 2026. The “before the sale starts” framing refers to the days immediately before March 25; coverage also reported the Pixel 9a at $399 during the event. The event has ended. Amazon’s sale FAQ gives the event dates, and Amazon’s 2026 sale coverage notes that prices and availability can change.
An early discount can be worth taking when it is verified and fits your budget: a price may disappear before a sale, stock can vary, and an event price may match rather than beat an earlier offer. None of that means Amazon guaranteed a lower Pixel 9a price during the event. One deal report characterized $399 as among the phone’s lowest prices, but that is not a complete price-history record; it does not prove the offer was the all-time low. Is the Pixel 9a worth considering?
The Pixel 9a’s appeal is its combination of Google software, a substantial update commitment, and useful midrange hardware—not flagship specifications in every category. It launched with Android 15 and uses Google’s Tensor G4 processor with 8GB of RAM. Google promises seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates, tied to the device’s availability rather than seven years from an individual buyer’s purchase date.
- Display: A 6.3-inch pOLED Actua display with a 60–120Hz refresh rate and up to 2700 nits peak brightness, according to Google.
- Battery: A 5,100mAh typical-capacity battery and Qi-certified wireless charging. Google’s “30+ hours” and “up to 100 hours” figures are manufacturer claims based on test conditions, not guaranteed everyday results.
- Cameras: A 48MP wide rear camera and 13MP ultrawide camera, with rear video recording up to 4K.
- Durability: IP68 dust and water resistance. That rating does not make the phone waterproof indefinitely; resistance can diminish with wear, drops, or repairs.
- Carrier choice: Google describes its unlocked model as compatible with the buyer’s chosen carrier or plan. Verify support for your specific carrier and any feature you need before purchase.
These specifications and support details are listed by Google’s Pixel 9a specifications page. Google’s product page also explains its unlocked-phone positioning and battery claims: Pixel 9a at Google Store.

Who should buy—and who should look elsewhere
Consider it at $399 if the listing is sound
The historical $399 price was compelling for a buyer who wanted a new, unlocked Pixel, could make 128GB work, and valued Google’s software and update policy. At that price, the phone offered a $100 reduction from Google’s $499 128GB reference price. It is not a reason to buy an expired listing or overlook unclear seller and return terms.
Wait or choose more storage if 128GB is tight
Large games, downloaded video, and extensive photo libraries can make 128GB restrictive. Google’s listed 256GB configuration costs $599, $100 more than the 128GB version at the Google Store. The historical $399 offer should not be assumed to apply to that larger configuration.

- Tiny is epic - Use Macro Focus to reveal vivid color and striking contrast in photos and videos of the smallest details – like raindrops, flowers, or sprinkles.
Look at alternatives if your priorities differ
- If long-distance zoom or more camera versatility matters most, the Pixel 9a lacks the telephoto setup found on Pixel Pro models.
- If maximum gaming performance, expandable storage, or much faster wired charging is a priority, compare phones designed around those needs.
- If you are considering a carrier offer, compare the total cost and required service period. Monthly bill credits are not the same as an immediate $100 discount on an unlocked phone.
- If a newer Pixel A-series phone or another handset is close in price, compare its actual configuration, support terms, and total cost rather than assuming the 9a is the better value.
How to check a live Amazon listing
The March promotion is over, and no live Amazon price is established here. If you find a new offer, verify the details on the product page and in checkout before relying on its advertised price:
- Confirm the product is the Google Pixel 9a, not another Pixel model.
- Check whether the selected configuration is 128GB or 256GB, and confirm the price for that exact option.
- Verify that the phone is unlocked if you want to choose your carrier.
- Review “Sold by” and “Ships from”; a marketplace offer may have different terms from a direct retailer listing.
- Confirm condition is new. Do not mistake renewed, refurbished, used, or warehouse stock for the new-phone deal.
- Check whether a coupon checkbox, Prime membership, trade-in, or carrier activation is required to reach the displayed price.
- Recheck the selected color, delivery date, return policy, and warranty terms for a US purchase.
- Confirm the discount at checkout and account for sales tax before comparing the total with another retailer.
Amazon deal prices and availability can change. Google’s US Store currently lists the 128GB Pixel 9a at $499 and the 256GB version at $599, but those prices do not prove that Amazon has either configuration in stock or at a particular price. Check Google Store’s configuration page for its current listing.

Buying verdict by price
| Price or situation | How to think about it |
|---|---|
| $399 for a new, unlocked 128GB Pixel 9a | Strong historical value if 128GB is enough and seller, warranty, and return terms are acceptable. This is the reported March 2026 deal, not a confirmed current offer. |
| $499 for 128GB at Google Store | Google’s listed US price as of August 18, 2026. It may still suit buyers who value the Pixel experience and long support, but compare current alternatives before paying the reference price. |
| $599 for 256GB at Google Store | Google’s listed US price as of August 18, 2026. Consider it if you need more storage, while comparing its total cost with other current phones. |
| Any Amazon offer with unclear condition, seller, or discount terms | Do not compare it as a straightforward new-phone price until those terms are verified. |
