Why “in 2025” needs a date
Tesla pricing is not fixed for the calendar year. Vehicles, trims and prices can change during the year, and the evidence for this comparison is a May 20, 2025 website snapshot rather than a preserved month-by-month configurator history. Therefore, these numbers show what the cheapest listed trim cost on that date; they do not prove that each amount was the lowest price Tesla offered at any point from January through December 2025.

The Model Y example illustrates why timing matters: Tesla said the Long Range RWD version launched in May, so it was a new lineup detail within the 2025 model year rather than a configuration available throughout the entire year.

A Tesla’s advertised starting price is only the vehicle’s configured base amount. Tesla’s ordering guidance says a destination fee applies to every new vehicle order and is non-negotiable; it covers shipping to the delivery location. Taxes and registration fees are calculated from the order details.

How to use this comparison when choosing a Tesla
- Start with the model line. The Model 3 and Model Y were the two lowest entry points in this snapshot, while the Cybertruck, Model S and Model X required substantially higher starting budgets.
- Confirm the exact trim and drivetrain. A model name alone is not enough: the prices above apply to Long Range RWD, Long Range, or All-Wheel Drive configurations as specified in the table.
- Check current availability and price. Tesla may have changed the configuration or price since May 20, 2025.
- Build the delivered-cost budget. Add destination, taxes, registration and chosen options rather than treating the base price as the cash required at delivery.
- Evaluate payment method separately. A lower sticker price does not guarantee a lower monthly payment; financing terms, down payment, trade-in value and credit approval all affect it.
Bottom line for a 2025 price comparison
For the May 20, 2025 U.S. snapshot, the Model 3 Long Range RWD was Tesla’s cheapest listed trim at $42,490. The Model Y Long Range RWD followed at $44,990, while the Cybertruck Long Range, Model S All-Wheel Drive and Model X All-Wheel Drive started at $69,990, $79,990 and $84,990. Treat those amounts as dated comparison points and obtain a fresh, location-specific Tesla order summary before making a buying decision.
