A 2025 published ranking puts Sofia Vergara first among the Modern Family cast, but net-worth figures are estimates—not verified personal financial statements.

Sofia Vergara is the richest Modern Family cast member in the 2025 ranking from realestate.com.au, with an estimated net worth of $180 million. These are published estimates, not verified financial statements: they cannot establish any actor’s actual assets, debts, taxes or available cash.

How the cast ranks by estimated net worth

The figures below are estimates published by realestate.com.au in 2025, not audited balances. Tied estimates share the same competition rank: the next rank follows the number of people ahead of it.

Rank Cast member Reported estimate
1 Sofia Vergara $180 million
2 Ed O’Neill $45 million
3 Ty Burrell $26 million
4 Jesse Tyler Ferguson $25 million
4 Eric Stonestreet $25 million
6 Julie Bowen $18 million
7 Sarah Hyland $14 million
8 Ariel Winter $12 million
8 Nolan Gould $12 million
8 Rico Rodriguez $12 million
11 Aubrey Anderson-Emmons $6 million

Why Sofia Vergara leads the published estimate

Vergara’s $180 million estimate is substantially higher than the next figure in the ranking. Her earnings history points to income beyond her acting salary. Forbes estimated she earned $19 million from May 2011 to May 2012, attributing that annual earnings figure to Modern Family, endorsements, licensing and Latin World Entertainment. That $19 million is a one-year earnings estimate, not a net-worth figure. Forbes later reported that Vergara and Kaley Cuoco each earned $28.5 million pretax between June 1, 2014 and June 1, 2015—again, annual earnings, not accumulated wealth. Forbes’ 2012 earnings report and Forbes’ 2015 report offer historical context, but neither verifies her current net worth.

What the cast reportedly earned per episode

The same realestate.com.au report says the six adult principals—Vergara, Ed O’Neill, Bowen, Burrell, Ferguson and Stonestreet—reportedly earned $500,000 per episode by the final season. Four younger cast members—Rodriguez, Winter, Gould and Hyland—reportedly earned more than $125,000 per episode in later seasons. Anderson-Emmons reportedly began at $35,000 per episode and later earned $70,000 per episode.

These reported rates help explain the show’s earning potential, but they do not show how much each actor kept or accumulated. A per-episode rate is not the same as total compensation, annual income or net worth; the estimates also do not attribute the cast’s wealth solely to the series.

Why published net-worth rankings are uncertain

Net worth requires a complete accounting of assets and liabilities. Public estimates do not reveal the private financial records needed to confirm that accounting, and different publishers can report different figures. Julie Bowen illustrates the problem: realestate.com.au’s 2025 ranking gives her $18 million, and Celebrity Net Worth’s 2026 profile overview also lists $18 million, while that profile’s article body says $20 million. The available reporting does not resolve the discrepancy.

Celebrity Net Worth also says the adult principals eventually negotiated $500,000 per episode and calculates that as $11 million for a 22-episode season before other compensation. That is a multiplication of the reported rate by an assumed episode count, not evidence that Bowen or another actor realized that amount in a particular year. Celebrity Net Worth’s Julie Bowen profile contains both the conflicting net-worth figures and the salary calculation.

What the property report adds

The ranking also reproduced a comment from Burrell about moving after the series ended: “We moved here right after [’Modern Family’] ended, and I don’t have any regrets. It’s been lovely and a great place to raise the kids.” The quotation is about a move and family life; it does not establish the value of his property or validate the net-worth estimate.

Series context

Modern Family ran for 11 seasons and 250 episodes, from 2009 to 2020, according to Celebrity Net Worth’s Julie Bowen profile. Just Jared reported in May 2025 that the series was available on Hulu; streaming availability can change and varies by location, so check the service in your area.
