There is no reliable public ranking of the 10 biggest individual sports sponsorship contracts: many terms are private, and published figures often mix contract values with annual or program-wide revenue. The clearest disclosed examples include a historical Bud Light–NFL deal reported at $1.2 billion over six years, while newer figures from FIFA and the Olympics describe broader rights programs—not single sponsor contracts.
Why a definitive top 10 is not possible from public figures
A sponsorship figure only means something when its basis is clear. A total contract value, an annual rights-holder revenue figure, and revenue from a multi-year sponsorship program are different measures. Comparing them as if they were individual deals creates a misleading ranking.
- Term and scope: A contract may cover one event, a league, several events, or a global program over multiple years.
- Rights category: “Partner,” “sponsor,” “supporter,” and “supplier” can describe different rights and tiers. They are not interchangeable labels.
- What the value includes: Consideration can include services or goods as well as cash.
- Disclosure: Some figures come from official reports, some from media reporting or historical tables, and some deals have no public value.
For those reasons, the examples below show the scale of reported deals and programs; they are not a current, ranked top 10 of individual contracts.
Four historical individual-deal examples with reported values
A historical PwC South Africa table, drawing on the World Sponsorship Monitor and dating to around 2011, listed these selected multi-year agreements. The values are reported as deal totals over the stated terms; the table does not establish that they remain current contracts or that each covered only one event.

| Reported sponsorship | Reported value and term | What the figure establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Bud Light–NFL | USD 1.2 billion over six years | A historical multi-year deal figure reported in the PwC South Africa table. |
| Hyundai–FIFA-related entry | USD 280 million over eight years | The table’s brief description does not establish that this was a current or single-World-Cup contract. |
| Dow–IOC | USD 250 million over ten years | A historical multi-year figure, not a current individual Olympic sponsor value. |
| UBS–Formula One | USD 200 million over five years | A historical multi-year figure from the same table. |
These examples make the Bud Light–NFL agreement the largest of the four in that historical table by reported total value. They do not prove it is the largest sports sponsorship contract ever, or that it ranks among today’s 10 largest: the table is historical and selected, not a comprehensive current database.
Large sports sponsorship figures that are not single deals
Organization-wide and program-wide totals help explain the scale of event sponsorship, but they should not be placed in a league table of individual contracts.

| Figure | Period and source | How to interpret it |
|---|---|---|
| USD 304 million in marketing-rights revenue | FIFA, 2024 | Annual revenue across FIFA’s marketing rights, not the price paid by one World Cup sponsor. |
| USD 26.6 million in value-in-kind | FIFA, 2024 | Goods and services included within FIFA’s marketing-rights revenue; it is not a separate individual contract value. |
| Almost USD 2.3 billion in cash, services, and value-in-kind | IOC TOP sponsorship program, commercial cycle ending with Tokyo 2020; reported by the Associated Press in 2024 | Revenue across the IOC’s global TOP program for the cycle, not a single sponsor agreement. |
The distinction matters because a property can earn substantial revenue from a portfolio of sponsors, while an individual sponsor buys a defined set of rights for a defined term. FIFA also describes long-term strategic alliances and multiple partner and sponsor classes, so a prominent partner label alone does not reveal the value or scope of one contract.
What current announcements do—and do not—reveal
FIFA has named Bank of America, Lay’s, and Verizon among sponsors for the 2026 World Cup, alongside other commercial partner and supporter tiers. The individual agreement values are not stated in the cited reporting, so those announcements cannot be used to assign a dollar amount or rank these sponsors against older deals.

How to compare sponsorship deals without mixing unlike numbers
When a value is available, check these points before treating it as comparable to another agreement:
Rank #4
- Beautifully matted collectors photo presentation, handmade in the USA
- Collage contains an 8" x 10" photo, additional 3" x 5" photo and a biography
- All photos and bio are bevel-cut and double matted under glass
- Comes framed in a beautifully sculpted black lacquered frame ready for hanging
- Extra care is given to packing and shipping to prevent glass and/or frame damage
- Identify the value basis. Is it a total over the contract term, an annual amount, or aggregate revenue for a rights-holder or sponsorship program?
- Read the scope and term. Note the number of years and whether rights cover one event, a league, a series of events, or a global program.
- Check the rights tier. Establish whether the company is described as a title or official partner, sponsor, supporter, supplier, or local event partner.
- Separate cash from total consideration. A reported total may include products, services, or other value-in-kind, not just cash paid.
- Record the evidence and date. Distinguish an official disclosed figure from a media report, estimate, or historical table, and keep its currency and reporting period attached.
If any of those details are missing, the figure may still offer context, but it cannot support a clean ranking against contracts measured on a different basis.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. So, what is the biggest sponsorship deal in sports?
The available public figures do not establish a single largest individual sports sponsorship deal on a consistent, current basis. The Bud Light–NFL agreement is the largest of the four individual historical examples listed above by reported total value, but that is a limited comparison—not a definitive all-time or current-world ranking. The much larger IOC TOP figure is program-wide revenue, and FIFA’s 2024 figure is annual marketing-rights revenue; neither is an individual contract.
