The Best Presidents’ Day 2026 Gaming PC, Laptop, and Component Deals

Presidents’ Day 2026 was February 16, 2026. The strongest deals identified during the sales period were discounted gaming desktops, especially complete systems with 32GB of memory and 2TB of storage. As of August 18, 2026, the prices below are historical snapshots—not confirmed live offers—so check the retailer before buying.

For most shoppers starting from scratch, a good prebuilt offered better overall value than assembling a new PC from individually discounted parts. A DIY build made more sense if you already owned reusable components or found an unusually strong CPU, GPU, or platform bundle.

The best Presidents’ Day gaming PC deals

Best overall value: iBUYPOWER RDY Element 9 Pro R07

At its recorded $1,999 price, this system combined a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, Radeon RX 9070 XT, 32GB of DDR5 memory, and a 2TB SSD. That balance made it the strongest overall candidate in the researched deals: the system was not merely discounted, but also appropriately equipped for demanding 1440p gaming.

#1 Best Overall
Dell Gaming Tower Desktop PC – Intel Core i5-7500 7th Gen 3.4GHz – 16GB DDR4 RAM – 256GB SSD – GeForce GT 1030 – RGB Keyboard & Mouse – WiFi – Windows 11 Pro – Gaming Computer (Renewed)
  • Processor: Intel Core i5-7500 7th Gen – 3.4GHz Base Speed, Up to 3.8GHz Turbo Boost for Reliable Gaming Performance
  • Memory: 16GB DDR4 RAM – Smooth Multitasking and Faster Load Times
  • Storage: 256GB SSD – Quick Boot Speeds and Responsive Storage
  • GPU: GeForce GT 1030 Graphics 2GB GDDR5 – Enhanced Visuals for Casual and Entry-Level Gaming
  • Accesories: Keyboard & Mouse

The RX 9070 XT is particularly attractive for conventional rasterized gaming. NVIDIA systems can be preferable when ray tracing, upscaling, frame generation, creator software, or other NVIDIA-specific features matter more. The right choice therefore depends on the games and applications you use, not just the GPU name.

Best budget desktop: iBUYPOWER RDY Slate 6M R03

This $1,199 configuration paired a Ryzen 5 7600 with an RTX 5060, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB SSD. It was a reasonable entry-level choice for 1080p gaming and included the convenience of a complete, ready-to-use system.

The main compromise was memory. Sixteen gigabytes remains usable, but 32GB is a better starting point for a new gaming PC if the budget allows. Before buying a similar configuration, check whether the 16GB is installed as one module or as a matched two-module kit, and confirm that the motherboard has accessible DIMM slots.

Best higher-end NVIDIA option: iBUYPOWER RDY Element Pro R08

The recorded $2,449 price included a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB of RAM, and a 2TB SSD. It suited buyers prioritizing NVIDIA’s software features, ray tracing, or a higher-end 1440p and entry-level 4K setup.

A premium CPU does not guarantee higher performance in every game. At higher resolutions and quality settings, the GPU is often the limiting component. Pay for the 9800X3D when its gaming performance, platform longevity, or the complete configuration justifies the price—not simply because it is the more expensive processor.

Best mainstream OEM alternative: HP OMEN 16L

The HP OMEN 16L was listed at $1,279.99, down from $1,479.99, with a Core Ultra 7 265F, RTX 5060 Ti, 16GB of DDR5 memory, and a 1TB SSD. It was a reasonable option for buyers who preferred HP’s retail presence and mainstream warranty process.

Rank #2
KOTIN Gaming PC Desktop Ryzen 7 8700F, RTX 5060 Ti 8G, 32GB DDR5, 1TB SSD
  • High-FPS Gaming PC Performance: AMD Ryzen 7 8700F and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB give this KOTIN gaming desktop the speed for 1080p and 1440p PC gaming, esports, AAA titles, streaming, and creative work, with DLSS 4 and ray tracing support for smoother, more detailed visuals.
  • 32GB DDR5 Memory + 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD: 32GB DDR5 keeps multitasking, browser tabs, streaming apps, and game launchers responsive, while the 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD helps shorten boot times, load games faster, and store your favorite titles, work files, and media.
  • Cool, Clean Gaming Tower Build: A CPU air cooler with 6 copper heat pipes and a digital temperature display works with five 120mm ARGB fans to support stable airflow during long sessions, giving this desktop computer a modern gaming setup look without sacrificing everyday practicality.
  • WiFi 7, Gold PSU & Upgrade Ready: WiFi 7 and Bluetooth help reduce cable clutter and support low-latency online play. A 650W 80 PLUS Gold power supply, four DDR5 DIMM slots, and three M.2 SSD slots give this prebuilt gaming PC room for future memory and storage upgrades.
  • Plug & Play Windows 11 Desktop: Professionally assembled and tested in the USA, this KOTIN gaming desktop arrives with Windows 11 Home pre-installed, so you can connect your monitor, keyboard, and mouse and start playing quickly. Includes a 1-year limited warranty and free technical support.

Its value depended heavily on details that are easy to overlook in an OEM listing. Check the exact power supply, motherboard, cooling arrangement, storage interface, and available upgrade slots. A compact desktop can be convenient, but proprietary components or limited airflow can make future upgrades more difficult.

Largest highlighted discount: iBUYPOWER Y70 Touch Infinite Gundam Wing Edition

This themed system was recorded at $2,549, down from $2,999—a $450 reduction. It used a Ryzen 7 9800X3D, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB of memory, and a 2TB SSD, with a large HYTE case and vertical touchscreen.

It was the biggest dollar discount among the highlighted systems, but not necessarily the best performance-per-dollar choice. The case and display add enthusiast appeal without automatically increasing frame rates. Treat it as a specialty or design-focused purchase rather than the default recommendation.

Best highlighted Newegg alternative: Gigabyte AORUS PRIME 5

Tom’s Hardware reported a $2,199.99 Newegg price for a system with a Ryzen 7 9700X, RTX 5070 Ti, 32GB of DDR5, 2TB of storage, and Windows 11. The deal also included a copy of Resident Evil Requiem.

The configuration was attractive on paper, but marketplace and retailer terms still matter. Confirm the seller, return window, warranty administrator, shipping cost, and game-redemption requirements before treating the advertised bonus as part of the system’s value.

What about gaming laptops?

The available Presidents’ Day coverage provided stronger, product-level evidence for desktop deals than for specific gaming-laptop configurations. That matters because a general laptop discount is not automatically a gaming-laptop deal.

Rank #3
Dell RGB Gaming Tower Computer, Intel Core i7 6th Gen, GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 4G, 16GB RAM, 512GB SSD, Prebuilt Gaming Desktop PC with Built-in WiFi & RGB Set, Windows 11 Pro (Renewed)

  • MESMERIZING RGB SETUP – Customize lighting effects on RGB gaming PC, Keyboard, Mouse, and Speakers to match your style and enhance the overall gaming experience

Windows Central highlighted systems such as the Microsoft Surface Pro 12-inch with Snapdragon X Plus, 16GB of RAM, and a 512GB SSD at $699.99, and the Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge at $594.75. Those may suit productivity, streaming, cloud gaming, or light gaming, but they should not be compared directly with a discrete-GPU gaming laptop without verifying game compatibility and graphics performance. TechRadar’s Presidents’ Day laptop coverage also covered multiple laptop categories rather than only gaming machines.

For a genuine gaming-laptop deal, prioritize the configuration over the percentage discount:

  • Budget: Look for an RTX 4050, RTX 4060, RTX 5060, or comparable discrete GPU, 16GB of preferably upgradeable memory, at least a 512GB SSD, and a 1080p or 1600p display running at 144Hz or more.
  • Midrange: Prefer an RTX 4060, RTX 4070, RTX 5060, or equivalent with 16GB or 32GB of RAM, a 1TB SSD, and a MUX switch or Advanced Optimus where available.
  • Premium: Pay extra for a stronger GPU, 32GB of RAM, sustained cooling, a quality 1600p or OLED display, a larger battery, or a better chassis—not merely for RGB lighting.

Laptop GPU names do not guarantee desktop-equivalent performance. Power limits and cooling can produce large differences between two laptops carrying the same GPU label. Also check whether the RAM is soldered, whether a second M.2 slot exists, and whether the display resolution is too demanding for the installed GPU.

Component deals worth considering

CPUs

The researched component coverage identified two notable historical CPU prices:

  • AMD Ryzen 7 7700X: $245, down from $399. It was a sensible AM5 option for a midrange gaming or mixed-use build, provided the cost of a compatible motherboard, DDR5 memory, and cooler still fit the budget.
  • AMD Ryzen 9 9900X: $359, down from $499. Its additional cores made it more compelling for rendering, encoding, compiling, and other multithreaded workloads than for a gaming-only system.

A cheap processor does not make a cheap complete PC. Add the cooler, motherboard, RAM, graphics card, SSD, case, power supply, operating system, shipping, tax, and—if relevant—assembly.

Memory

Sixteen gigabytes was still a workable budget configuration, but 32GB was the more comfortable baseline for a new gaming PC. For Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 9800X3D systems, DDR5-6000 was a commonly recommended target, although the best stable setting depends on the kit, motherboard, BIOS, and individual processor.

Rank #4
KOTIN Gaming PC Desktop, Ryzen 7 8700F, RTX 5060 Ti 8GB, 16GB DDR5, 1TB SSD
  • High-FPS Gaming PC Performance: AMD Ryzen 7 8700F and GeForce RTX 5060 Ti 8GB give this KOTIN gaming desktop responsive speed for 1080p and 1440p PC gaming, esports, AAA titles, streaming, and creative work, with DLSS 4 and ray tracing support for smoother visuals.
  • 16GB DDR5 + 1TB Gen4 NVMe SSD: 16GB DDR5 memory supports smooth everyday gaming, multitasking, browsing, streaming apps, and game launchers, while the 1TB PCIe Gen4 NVMe SSD helps shorten boot times, load games faster, and store your favorite titles and files.
  • Cool, Clean Gaming Tower Build: A CPU air cooler with 6 copper heat pipes and a digital temperature display works with five 120mm ARGB fans to support stable airflow during long sessions, giving this desktop computer a modern gaming setup look.
  • WiFi 7, Gold PSU & Upgrade Ready: WiFi 7 and Bluetooth help support low-latency online play. A 650W 80 PLUS Gold power supply, four DDR5 DIMM slots, and three M.2 SSD slots give this prebuilt gaming PC room for future memory and storage upgrades.

Do not pay a large premium for marginally faster memory in a GPU-limited build. Verify whether a prebuilt uses one 16GB module or two 8GB modules, whether replacement slots are accessible, and whether the motherboard supports the intended memory profile.

Special offer. See more information about Outbyte and uninstall instructions. Please review EULA and Privacy policy.

SSDs

The strongest complete systems included either 1TB or 2TB SSDs. One terabyte was acceptable, but 2TB was more practical for buyers with a large modern game library.

Confirm that the drive is NVMe rather than SATA, check for a second M.2 slot, and find out whether the system uses standard replaceable components. Sequential-speed claims should not dominate the decision: for many games, capacity and overall system value matter more than small differences in advertised transfer rates.

Graphics cards

The deal coverage centered on the RTX 5060, RTX 5060 Ti, RTX 5070 Ti, and Radeon RX 9070 XT. Compare them according to your target resolution, frame rate, ray-tracing preferences, upscaling and frame-generation needs, VRAM, power requirements, and total system price.

Do not call one card universally best without specifying whether the comparison involves 1080p, 1440p, or 4K; rasterized or ray-traced games; native or upscaled rendering; and a desktop or laptop implementation.

Prebuilt versus DIY: which was better?

Your situation Usually the better starting point
Starting with no existing parts Prebuilt, unless a DIY parts list is dramatically cheaper
You already own a case, power supply, or storage Component upgrade or DIY build
You want one warranty and simple support Prebuilt
You want control over every component DIY
You need portability Gaming laptop
You want strong 1440p performance near $2,000 Compare the RX 9070 XT prebuilt with a complete DIY total
You combine gaming with heavy productivity Consider a higher-core Ryzen 9 system

A prebuilt may cost more than a CPU-and-GPU shopping list while also including Windows, a case, cooler, power supply, assembly, warranty coverage, and sometimes peripherals. A DIY comparison is valid only when it includes all of those items and accounts for shipping and tax.

Checklist before buying

  1. Confirm the exact model: Check the GPU’s VRAM, the laptop GPU’s power limit, the SSD interface, the motherboard chipset, and the precise display resolution and refresh rate.
  2. Inspect memory: Determine whether the system has 16GB or 32GB and whether it uses one module or a matched pair.
  3. Check the power supply: Look for the wattage, manufacturer, efficiency rating, connectors, and whether it is a standard replaceable unit.
  4. Review cooling: Verify that the case has adequate airflow and that the CPU cooler is appropriate for sustained loads.
  5. Assess upgradeability: Check DIMM slots, M.2 slots, GPU clearance, motherboard format, CPU-socket support, and BIOS requirements.
  6. Read the return policy: Confirm the return window, restocking fees, dead-pixel policy, open-box status, and who handles warranty service.
  7. Normalize the price: Add shipping, tax, required coupons, membership fees, and the value of any bundled game or accessory.
  8. Verify availability: Product photos and specifications can change while the product name stays the same.

When did the Presidents’ Day deals expire?

Many Presidents’ Day promotions began before February 16 and ended on the holiday or shortly afterward. The iBUYPOWER offers were reported as limited to the holiday period, with one report describing an end time around midnight Pacific Time after the federal holiday. Some other offers were reported through February 18.

Because the event has ended, do not present these prices as current deals without separately checking the retailer page. Record the price, retailer, date, time, coupon requirement, shipping charge, and stock status when updating this guide.

Bottom line by budget

  • Under $1,300: An RTX 5060 or RTX 5060 Ti prebuilt was the practical route, but budget for a possible move from 16GB to 32GB of RAM.
  • Around $2,000: The iBUYPOWER RDY Element 9 Pro R07 offered the most balanced researched configuration, with a Ryzen 7 7800X3D, RX 9070 XT, 32GB of RAM, and 2TB of storage.
  • Around $2,200–$2,500: The RTX 5070 Ti systems were the NVIDIA-focused choices, with the iBUYPOWER Element Pro R08 and Gigabyte AORUS PRIME 5 offering 32GB of RAM and 2TB SSDs.
  • For DIY builders: The Ryzen 7 7700X was the more gaming-oriented value option, while the Ryzen 9 9900X made more sense when productivity workloads justified its extra cores.
