When does Amazon’s Black Friday sale start in 2026?
As of October 4, 2026, Amazon had not officially announced its 2026 Black Friday sale dates or deals, according to NJ.com’s October 2 report. The report says Black Friday falls on November 27, 2026, and Cyber Monday on November 30. Those calendar dates do not establish when Amazon’s sale will begin.
Amazon’s official Prime Big Deal Days announcement sets that separate, Prime-exclusive event for October 6–7, 2026, beginning October 6 at 12:01 a.m. PDT and lasting 48 hours. It is a fall shopping event, not confirmation of the Black Friday schedule.
Amazon seller-forum guidance lists October 16 as the deadline for sellers to submit Black Friday Sale deals and October 17 as an inventory-arrival date for deal-badge eligibility. How to judge a kitchen knife deal when listings go live
Compare the exact knife and listing, not just the discount badge. A practical evaluation should cover:
- Use and format: Decide whether you need one chef knife for everyday prep or a set because you will use its additional pieces. A larger piece count alone does not make a set better value.
- Exact model and specifications: Match the model or SKU on the listing to the manufacturer’s documentation. Check the published blade material, construction, size, and intended tasks rather than inferring performance from a product title.
- Seller and fulfillment: Check who is selling the knife, who fulfills the order, and whether the listing details match the maker’s product information.
- Price history: Compare the current price with the item’s available history and prior deal prices. A crossed-out list price is not, by itself, proof that the current price is a meaningful discount.
- Fit and upkeep: Consider whether the handle suits your grip, and what sharpening and care the knife requires. A low purchase price may not suit you if the knife’s maintenance does not.
- Returns and warranty: Review the listing’s return terms and the manufacturer’s warranty before buying.
