For most people shopping for an at-home sauna blanket, HigherDOSE is Vogue’s best-overall pick; CurrentBody is the better fit if you want to set a precise temperature and session length. Other options stand out for lower price, zippered arm openings, accessories or a higher listed maximum temperature. If you are considering a mat rather than a blanket, Grooni offers a PEMF infrared format. These are product distinctions—not evidence that any device prevents or treats illness.

Choose CurrentBody when control over time and temperature matters
CurrentBody allows users to customize both time and temperature within its listed 86–167°F range. Vogue also reported a cotton towel insert and a 60-day money-back guarantee. Because guarantees can have conditions or change, confirm the seller’s current terms before buying.
Choose LifePro BioRemedy for the lower listed price and zippered arm holes
At $180 in Vogue’s roundup, LifePro BioRemedy was the least expensive of these six products. Its listed 30–60-minute sessions, 86–158°F range, zippered arm holes and thermal wraps may suit someone who wants to use their arms during a session. Vogue’s listing pointed to Amazon; confirm the seller, product details and return terms on the current listing.
Choose Heat Healer if its design and listed features appeal to you
Heat Healer’s listed maximum is 140°F, lower than the other blankets in this comparison. Vogue reported a 75-inch length, a nine-level display and an 8,000–10,000 nm far-infrared listing. Treat those as specifications rather than proof of superior heating or health effects.
Choose Hydragun HeatPod 2 for the highest listed maximum
HeatPod 2 has the highest listed blanket maximum in this roundup: 185°F, with a reported range of 86–185°F and timer settings from five to 60 minutes. It also includes a footrest and pillow. A higher maximum does not mean you should use a higher setting; follow the manufacturer’s instructions and your clinician’s advice where relevant.

Choose Grooni if you prefer a mat
Grooni PEMF Infrared Therapy Mat Pro is a different form factor from the blanket products. Vogue listed a temperature range of 86–158°F, six PEMF cores with variable frequencies from 3–30 Hz and a length of 73 inches. Consider whether a flat mat better suits your use and storage needs before comparing its price with blanket models.
What to compare before you buy
Maximum temperature alone is a poor way to choose. A useful comparison starts with how you expect to use the product, then checks its controls, fit, upkeep and safety features.
- Format and space: Decide whether you want a wraparound blanket, a mat or a full sauna enclosure. Check the product’s dimensions against where you will use it and where you can store it dry.
- Temperature and timer: Check the adjustable range and whether the device has a timer or automatic shutoff. A maximum setting is not a recommended setting for every user.
- Materials and cleaning: Look for clear material information and instructions for cleaning the interior. Vogue’s experts recommend wipe-clean, non-toxic materials and even heating; confirm what the manufacturer actually documents for the model you are considering.
- Safety protections: Check for automatic shutoff and overheat protection in the manufacturer’s product documentation. Do not assume a feature is present because another model has it.
- Accessories and comfort: Compare included inserts, wraps, pillows or footrests, and consider whether the product’s length and openings work for you.
- Total purchase terms: Compare current price, shipping, return window, warranty and seller. The dollar amounts above are Vogue’s May 16, 2025 roundup prices, not live quotes.
What the evidence does—and does not—show
Vogue says research on infrared sauna blankets and their efficacy remains very limited. That means a product’s temperature range, infrared labeling or PEMF features should not be presented as proof of a medical benefit. If your goal is relaxation or warmth, judge the device by comfort, usability and safety rather than by promises of detoxification, disease treatment or guaranteed weight loss.
Health claims also have a legal evidence standard. The U.S. Federal Trade Commission says advertisers cannot claim that a product prevents, treats or cures disease without competent and reliable scientific evidence. In a 2020 warning, the FTC said it knew of no such study for the products addressed and required unsupported coronavirus claims to stop. Read the FTC’s 2020 notice.

Safety guidance for sauna blankets
Read the manual for the exact product you buy, especially its temperature limits, session duration, placement, cleaning and shutoff instructions. CurrentBody’s safety guidance is specific to its blanket and should not be assumed to apply identically to other brands.
When to consult a clinician or avoid use
CurrentBody advises adults to consult a doctor before using its blanket. It says not to use the product during pregnancy or breastfeeding, with implanted medical devices, or on heat-sensitive, broken, red, sore or swollen skin. It also advises people with cardiovascular, circulatory or chronic conditions to obtain medical permission. If any of these circumstances apply, get individualized medical advice before using a heat device.
Setup, hydration and care
CurrentBody recommends drinking 200 to 300 ml of water before use. Its instructions say to place the blanket and controller on a heat-resistant surface, clean the blanket with a soft cloth, disconnect it when not in use and store it dry. Follow the manual for your own model rather than treating another manufacturer’s instructions as universal.
CurrentBody’s published electrical and certification details
For its own Infrared Sauna Blanket, CurrentBody lists 650 W power, a 4–16 micron far-infrared wavelength, a 75°C temperature-control protection specification and 110–240 V / 50–60 Hz input. It also lists certification reports for CE, CCC, RoHS, UKCA, FCC and PSE. These are manufacturer-published product details, not a comparative safety test of the six products above. See CurrentBody’s product page and verify that the specifications match the model and region you plan to purchase.
