The Microsoft Rewards Dashboard shows which earning activities are available to your account; it does not guarantee that every Bing search will produce points. Search credit can stop when you reach a daily limit, use the wrong Microsoft account, trigger an automated-search protection, search from a different market, or have a delay between the Bing app and your Rewards account.
Try the checks below before reinstalling the app or continuing to search rapidly. Repeated searches that do not qualify will not be added later.
1. Check whether you have reached the daily search limit
Microsoft Rewards currently says that Level 1 members can earn points for up to 10 Bing searches per day, while Level 2 members can earn points for up to 30 searches per day. The exact earning options and limits can vary by country or region.
To check the counter:
- Open the Microsoft Rewards Dashboard.
- Select Earn or Points breakdown.
- Look for the PC and mobile search progress indicators.
If a counter is full, further searches will not earn points until the daily limit resets. The activities can remain visible on the Dashboard even after you have used the available searches.

2. Make sure Bing and Rewards use the same account
A common cause is being signed in to one Microsoft account in the Bing app and another account on the Rewards website. Your search may appear in Bing history without being credited to the Rewards account you are checking.
Check the email address shown in both places:
- Open the Bing app and tap your profile icon.
- Note the Microsoft account currently signed in.
- Open the Rewards Dashboard in a browser and compare the account address.
- Sign out of Bing if necessary, then sign back in with the account that holds your Rewards membership.
Do not rely only on the account connected to your phone. The Microsoft account signed in inside the Bing app is the one that matters for mobile searches.
3. Check Give Mode before assuming points disappeared
If Give Mode is enabled, search-earned points are directed toward the nonprofit you selected instead of appearing as ordinary points available for your own redemption. This can make the balance look as though searches are not being credited.
Open the Rewards Dashboard and check the Donate area and Give Mode settings. If you want the points added to your personal Rewards balance, turn Give Mode off. If you intentionally enabled it, the missing personal balance may simply reflect the donation setting rather than a failed search.

Microsoft may temporarily limit search earning when activity looks designed only to collect points. Examples include:
- Entering many searches in quick succession
- Repeating the same short query
- Searching random letters or numbers
- Rapidly opening bookmarked pages solely to generate searches
- Using bots, macros, scripts, or other automation
Microsoft recommends spreading searches throughout the day and using genuine, varied queries. A search appearing in your Bing history does not prove that it qualified for Rewards credit; the Rewards system separately checks whether the activity meets its earning rules.
Do not try to compensate for missing points by sending dozens of additional searches immediately. That can prolong a temporary limitation and, in repeated or serious cases, may lead to point invalidation or account suspension.
5. Turn off VPNs, proxies, and location-changing tools
Rewards earning is tied to your market. A VPN or proxy can make it appear that you are searching from another country or region. Microsoft warns against earning from outside your current market, earning from more than one country on the same day, or using services that change your apparent IP location.

For testing, disable your VPN or proxy and use your normal connection. Also avoid switching between countries while travelling. Regional earning options, especially mobile methods, are not identical everywhere.
6. Use a supported mobile method
Microsoft currently lists these mobile earning routes, where available in your region:
- The Bing mobile app
- Bing as the default search engine
- Microsoft Launcher for Android
Mobile earning methods are not available in every country. If you are using a different browser, an embedded search box, or a third-party app, the search may not qualify in the same way.
In the Bing app, verify the Microsoft account from the profile menu. Then perform a small number of ordinary searches rather than testing the system repeatedly.

Why the Dashboard, app, and balance may disagree

The app’s activity display is not necessarily the same as the account balance. Treat the Rewards Dashboard and its counters as the better place to verify earning status.
A practical troubleshooting sequence
- Sign out of the Bing app.
- Sign back in with the Microsoft account used for Rewards.
- Open the Rewards Dashboard and inspect Earn and Points breakdown.
- Check whether the PC or mobile search counter has reached its daily maximum.
- Check whether Give Mode is enabled.
- Disable VPNs, proxies, macros, bots, automation, and search-related extensions.
- Make a small number of varied searches, spaced throughout the day.
- Wait for the daily reset before testing again if the counter was full.
If the counter still does not move after the reset, submit the issue through Microsoft Rewards Support. Include your account region, device, operating system, Bing app or browser version, approximate time of the failed searches, and screenshots of the Dashboard and search counter. Avoid posting your full email address or other private account details publicly.

Reinstalling can help with a damaged app installation or a display problem, but it will not bypass a daily limit, correct a market restriction, or make non-qualifying searches count. Some users have reported that the Rewards widget disappeared after an app update or relaunch, but those reports are user experiences rather than an official Microsoft diagnosis. Use Rewards Support if the widget remains missing after confirming the correct account and updating the app.
