ALDI, Walmart and Food Lion each advertised a meal plan under $40 for ten. Sam’s Club’s under-$100 feast was a different kind of offer: prepared food designed to be ready in under two hours, rather than a basket of ingredients to cook.
These are historical 2025 promotions, not current prices or confirmed offers for a later Thanksgiving. The comparison focuses on announced cost, serving size, menu and convenience; it is not an independent check of checkout totals or food quality.

1. Lidl: lowest announced total
Lidl announced a meal for ten for less than $36, making it the lowest stated total among these selected offers. The list covered a turkey and ingredients or items for familiar sides and pumpkin pie. The price depended in part on Lidl’s advertised turkey offer: $0.25 per pound with the MyLidl app. Lidl said items were sold separately, and the promotion ran Nov. 5 through Nov. 26, 2025. 2. ALDI: $40 build-your-own spread
ALDI said shoppers could assemble a $40 meal for ten, including a turkey and ingredients for nine sides. Its listed ingredients ranged from broth, cream of mushroom soup and fried onions to cranberries, sweet potatoes and potatoes. 3. Walmart: broad basket with pickup and delivery
Walmart advertised a basket of more than 20 items for ten people for under $40. Its listed turkey was a 13.5-pound Butterball at $0.97 per pound; other items included stuffing, rolls, potatoes, cranberries, carrots, canned vegetables and macaroni and cheese. 4. Food Lion: pies included in the suggested list
Food Lion’s suggested list for ten cost under $40 during its Nov. 12–27, 2025 promotion. In addition to a 14-pound frozen turkey, sides and staples, the release mentioned two Mrs. Smith’s pies with whipped cream. Shoppers could use stores or Food Lion To Go. 5. Kroger: a per-person budget target

Sam’s Club announced a nine-item Member’s Mark feast for ten for under $100, available beginning Nov. 1, 2025, and ready in under two hours. Its menu included smoked turkey, several sides, salad and pumpkin pie. The company described online, in-club and curbside shopping, with delivery terms for Plus members. - Check the actual list and serving assumptions. A stated meal for ten does not guarantee that every household will have the same portions, leftovers or preferred dishes. Some releases provide more menu detail than others.
- Include access conditions. Lidl’s advertised turkey price required the MyLidl app; Food Lion referenced MVP rewards on qualifying purchases; Sam’s Club described Plus-member delivery terms.
- Confirm location and fulfillment. The Save Mart Companies specified California and western Nevada. Pickup, delivery and in-store availability can also depend on retailer and location.
- Verify current-season terms before budgeting. Every amount and date in this comparison belongs to a 2025 announcement; a later year’s price, inventory, menu and fulfillment options require fresh confirmation.
