Amazon Prime Day 2025 ran July 8–11, but the deals in the historical roundups are not evidence of current prices or availability. WIRED’s July 3 early-deal roundup named 61 offers on products its editors said reviewers had tested; one was the Kindle (2024) Essentials Bundle with a black fabric cover and power adapter. Treat those picks as a record of what was featured in 2025, not as live recommendations.
What did the 2025 roundup include?
WIRED published “61 Best Early Amazon Prime Day Deals on Products We’ve Tested (2025)” on July 3, before the event dates it listed as July 8–11, 2025. The article said its recommended deals were on products reviewers had tested and approved; that is WIRED’s description of its own selection process, not an independent assessment of every item.

The roundup was not limited to Amazon-branded devices. Its named examples included an Echo Spot, Arlo and Tapo cameras, a Jackery Explorer 300, a sleep mask and Brooklinen sheets, as well as the Kindle (2024) Essentials Bundle. The available historical coverage establishes that these products appeared in the roundup, but not their present-day prices, stock, sellers or model revisions.
One identifiable Kindle bundle
The specific Kindle item was the Kindle (2024) Essentials Bundle with a black fabric cover and power adapter. If you search for it now, match the year and included accessories: a Kindle sold by itself or a bundle with different accessories is not the same configuration. The historical listing does not establish that this bundle remains available or discounted.

How to judge a Prime Day discount
A sale badge or a crossed-out list price does not by itself show that a product is unusually cheap. In its 2025 UK deal coverage, The Telegraph Recommended described comparing an offer with the product’s six-month average price. It said its usual threshold was at least 10 per cent below that average, with exceptions for premium brands. That is the publisher’s screening approach, not a universal rule or a guarantee that a deal is good value.
- Match the exact item. Check the model, year, size, colour and bundle contents. A price history for a different configuration is not a fair comparison.
- Check the live offer. Confirm the current price, seller and stock on the product page. Historical articles and search snippets cannot verify an active offer.
- Look at price history. Use a price tracker to compare the current price with a meaningful recent history, such as the six-month average discussed by The Telegraph. Consider whether the displayed reference price reflects what the item typically sells for.
- Check the purchase conditions. Confirm whether the offer requires Prime membership and whether delivery, returns or other terms affect the total value.
Does Prime Day 2025 coverage establish a deal now?
No. WIRED’s article and The Telegraph’s separate UK coverage describe the 2025 event and its deals; neither establishes that a named product is currently discounted. Prices, sellers, inventory and product revisions can change, so verify the current listing and price history before deciding whether to buy.
