For a hearty, meal-like bowl, look for Lasagna Soup with Turkey or Italian-Style Wedding Soup. Garden Vegetable is the vegetable-forward pick, Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar works well with a sandwich or bread, and Pumpkin Bisque brings a smooth, seasonal fall flavor. These are practical choices for different kinds of easy meals—not a universal ranking—and seasonal availability varies.
How these five soups differ
| Soup | Best for | Texture and flavor | Format and availability | Side needed? |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Lasagna Soup with Turkey | A hearty, familiar dinner | Creamy tomato base with mafalda pasta, turkey, Asiago and Romano cheeses | Refrigerated; reported as a limited-time fall product. Check local stock. | It has pasta and turkey, so it is among the more meal-like options. |
| Garden Vegetable Soup | A vegetable-forward bowl | Chunky mix of vegetables and greens | Jarred and shelf-stable; check the package for heating directions. | Can stand on its own; a reviewer also suggested serving it over noodles. |
| Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup | A rich soup-and-sandwich meal | Thick, rich cheddar flavor with broccoli, carrot and onion pieces | Check the package and local store for current format and availability. | Trader Joe’s suggests bread, a sandwich or a leafy salad. |
| Italian-Style Wedding Soup | A classic pasta-and-meatball bowl | Acini di pepe pasta and bite-sized beef meatballs | Check the package and local store for current format and availability. | It includes pasta and meatballs; add a side to suit your appetite. |
| Pumpkin Bisque | A smooth, seasonal fall soup | Pumpkin puree and cream with onion, garlic, seasonal spices, honey and tahini, according to Trader Joe’s | Seasonal; Trader Joe’s describes it as a returning fall favorite. | Its smooth texture makes it a natural match for bread, if desired. |
1. Lasagna Soup with Turkey: best for a hearty dinner
This is the shortlist’s most direct choice when you want soup to feel like dinner. A December 2025 review describes a creamy tomato base with small mafalda pasta, turkey, Asiago and Romano cheeses. The reviewer reported 11 grams of protein per serving on the label at that time; check the current package, since nutrition information can change.
Parade reported in April 2026 that the 20-ounce refrigerated soup was a limited-time fall-season product and could be heated in a microwave or on the stove. That dated report does not establish current availability or price, so check with your local Trader Joe’s before planning a meal around it.
2. Garden Vegetable Soup: best shelf-stable vegetable-forward choice
In her December 2025 review, Kathy Sisson of The Everymom called this jarred soup a “sleeper hit.” She lists sweet potato, carrots, onion, celery, tomato, zucchini, red pepper, leeks, kale, Swiss chard and spinach. She found it satisfying on its own and suggested pouring it over noodles for a more substantial bowl.

#1 Best Overall
Sisson also noted that it had more sodium and less protein than the Hearty Minestrone she compared it with. That is her observation of the products at the time, not a current label comparison. If sodium or protein matters to your meal planning, use the package in front of you.
3. Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar Soup: best with a sandwich or bread
This is the richest choice here: Sisson describes sharp cheddar flavor and substantial broccoli, carrot and onion pieces, with a thick consistency. Trader Joe’s Fall 2026 Flyer suggests pairing it with crusty bread, serving it in a bread bowl, or adding a hearty sandwich or leafy salad. Sisson says a little broth can thin it; that is her personal adjustment, not package guidance.

- Ideal for a bookworm

4. Italian-Style Wedding Soup: best for pasta and meatballs
Acini di pepe pasta and bite-sized beef meatballs give this soup the familiar combination that makes wedding soup feel like a complete bowl. Sisson’s December 2025 review found it convenient compared with making wedding soup from scratch. She also flagged sodium as something to consider if eating the whole jar. That reflects her review and label observation at the time; check the current label for your serving.
5. Pumpkin Bisque: best smooth seasonal fall choice
Trader Joe’s Fall 2026 Flyer calls Pumpkin Bisque a returning seasonal favorite and describes a pumpkin puree and cream base with onion, garlic, seasonal spices, honey and tahini. The flyer says it can be warmed on the stove or in a microwave. Sisson’s December 2025 review describes a pumpkin-and-squash bisque with sage and other ingredients, but says pumpkin dominated the flavor for her. Choose it if that profile sounds appealing; it is seasonal rather than a year-round staple.

Choose by the meal you want
- For the most meal-like bowl: Start with Lasagna Soup with Turkey or Italian-Style Wedding Soup. One combines pasta, turkey and cheese; the other pairs pasta with meatballs.
- For vegetables: Garden Vegetable is the clearest fit in this shortlist, with a broad mix of vegetables and greens listed by the reviewer.
- For soup with an easy side: Pair Unexpected Broccoli Cheddar with bread, a sandwich or salad, as Trader Joe’s suggests.
- For smooth texture and fall flavor: Pick Pumpkin Bisque if you enjoy pumpkin-forward, seasonal flavors.
Heating, labels and availability
Use the directions on the package you buy: heating instructions vary by product, and formulations can change. For one example, Trader Joe’s official Autumnal Harvest Soup product page says to heat the soup in a saucepan or transfer it to a microwave-safe container. Its directions specify roughly six to eight minutes on the stove or three to four minutes in the microwave. Those instructions are for Autumnal Harvest Soup, not a blanket guide for every soup on this list.
Trader Joe’s says product-page details can change and recommends contacting a store for current price and availability. Seasonal descriptions, dated reporting and past reviews are not live inventory information. Check the store before making a special trip for a seasonal soup, and read the current package for ingredients, allergens and nutrition. If you microwave soup from a jar, use a microwave-safe container when the package calls for one; a suitable bowl with a lid is a convenience, not a requirement to buy a particular product.
