Why another preseason ranking names Aaron Ramsdale
A separate EFL Analysis article published ahead of the 2025/26 season attributed a top-ten list to Capology. It put Aaron Ramsdale first at an estimated £120,000 per week, followed by Harry Winks at £90,000; Boubakary Soumaré and Ricardo Pereira at £80,000; and Wilfred Ndidi, Conor Coady and Patson Daka at £75,000 each. The article described its numbers as estimates and warned that the ranking could change before the transfer window closed. Read EFL Analysis’ preseason ranking and caveat.

The available figures do not establish a single reconciled or official top 15.

The EFL’s 2025/26 regulations define “Basic Wage” as a player’s minimum guaranteed weekly pay before bonuses or other contingency payments. They set the Established Player Basic Wage at £3,400 per week. This is a regulatory threshold, not a published salary list and not confirmation of any estimate above. Read the EFL Regulation 2025_26.

How to interpret the figures
- They are estimates, not disclosed contracts. Neither cited ranking establishes a player’s confirmed fixed pay or total compensation.
- Do not compare the currencies or periods as if they were the same measure. FootyStats reports annual euros; the preseason EFL Analysis article reports weekly pounds.
- Do not read the amounts as take-home pay. The sources do not establish taxes, bonuses, contingent payments or other components of individual compensation.
- Club wage bills are a different measure. SalaryLeaks’ 10 December 2025 article estimates Southampton’s 2025/26 squad wage bill at £32.7 million and ranks it first; that is a club-level estimate, not evidence for any player’s individual salary. See SalaryLeaks’ estimated club wage bills.
