Kevin James’s biggest box-office title in this ranking is Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation, with a reported worldwide theatrical gross of $527,361,714. The figures below rank films only: movie ticket sales can be compared as box office, but no comparable gross total was established for James’s television shows. His sitcom The King of Queens is important career context, not a film-box-office entry.
How this ranking works
The list uses worldwide theatrical grosses in The Numbers’ Kevin James filmography, accessed October 8, 2026. These are database-reported ticket-sales totals—not profits, James’s personal earnings, or total revenue from television, streaming, home video, and other distribution. The Numbers’ figures can differ across its own pages: its separate page for Hotel Transylvania reports $377,140,952, while the filmography used here lists $377,369,679. To keep the ranking comparable, the table uses the filmography figures throughout.

What stands out in the rankings
The Hotel Transylvania films dominate the top
The three Hotel Transylvania films occupy three of the top four positions. The 2018 third installment leads the list, ahead of the 2015 sequel by more than $52 million in the reported totals. James voiced Frankenstein across the animated series.
Hitch outranks the Grown Ups films
Hitch ranks fourth at $366,784,257, ahead of Grown Ups at $272,222,420. James plays Albert in the 2005 romantic comedy and Eric Lamonsoff in the 2010 ensemble comedy.
The bottom two are nearly tied
Paul Blart: Mall Cop sits just above I Now Pronounce You Chuck & Larry, with a difference of $196,288 between the reported worldwide totals. Both figures are box-office grosses, not an accounting of what either film earned after costs.
Where The King of Queens fits
The King of Queens was a CBS sitcom that ran from 1998 to 2007, and it remains a major part of James’s television career. Apple TV describes the series and its run on its series page. It does not provide a comparable worldwide theatrical-gross figure. Television revenue can involve different measures—such as licensing, syndication, advertising, or subscription value—so placing a show beside films by box-office gross would imply a comparison the available figures do not support.

What the totals do—and do not—measure
Box-office gross is the amount reported from theatrical ticket sales, not the amount a performer takes home. It also does not capture all the ways a title may earn money after theaters. For example, The Numbers separately records estimated DVD sales of $67,959,234 and Blu-ray sales of $32,228,300 for Hotel Transylvania (2012); those historical estimates are separate from its theatrical gross and do not establish current retail availability.
