In the United States, Tesla Model X is no longer in production. Tesla’s current buying path is its pre-owned inventory. One Tesla Certified Pre-Owned listing observed on September 30, 2026, was a 2024 Model X with 19,669 miles, five seats and a tow package priced at $71,900. That is one vehicle’s asking price—not a market average or a guarantee that it remains available. See Tesla’s Model X product page and inventory listing for the current status and vehicle details.
What does a Tesla Model X cost now?
Tesla does not publish a current new-car order price for Model X because the model page says production has ended. For shoppers, the relevant price is the VIN-specific price on Tesla’s used inventory site. The $71,900 example above was listed by Tesla in 2026 as a Certified Pre-Owned 2024 vehicle with 19,669 miles. Prices can change or disappear as inventory moves.
Do not treat an old Model X MSRP—or a price from a different year, mileage level or option set—as today’s price. A used Model X’s value depends on model year, mileage, seating, trim, wheels, condition and history, remaining warranty, and included options. Tesla’s inventory filters can narrow vehicles by those characteristics, including seat layout, paint, wheels, steering control and self-driving equipment.
Model X configurations compared
Tesla’s current comparison lists two powertrains. The figures below are Tesla-published specifications, not independent test results. EPA range is an estimate; Tesla says real-world range and charging vary with the charger, configuration, state of charge, battery temperature, speed, weather and elevation.

The dual-motor version is the practical choice if range and passenger capacity matter most. Plaid is the performance choice: it gives up 17 EPA-estimated miles and one potential seat for substantially quicker acceleration and more power. Tesla’s current page does not provide a purchase-price difference, so there is no reliable basis to call either configuration the better value without matching used listings.

Tesla says Premium Connectivity requires a separate subscription. Confirm whether it is active, transferable or merely trial access on the particular used vehicle.

These are Tesla’s stated features, not an independent safety rating or a guarantee that every used vehicle has identical equipment.
Why the individual listing matters
The cited 2024 CPO vehicle had a five-seat interior, steering wheel, 20-inch Cyberstream wheels, Stealth Grey paint and a tow package. It also included one-month trials of Premium Connectivity and Full Self-Driving (Supervised). Another Model X may have a different seat count, wheels, controls, paint or subscription status, so compare the actual VIN-level listing rather than assuming the model name tells you everything.

Warranty and ownership-cost checks
Tesla lists a basic vehicle warranty of four years or 50,000 miles, whichever comes first, and a battery-and-drive-unit warranty of eight years or 150,000 miles, whichever comes first, for both configurations. On a used vehicle, remaining coverage is determined by its original in-service date and mileage. Check the VIN-specific listing and Tesla’s warranty terms before assigning a dollar value to the coverage.
Tesla says Model X can be charged at home, making a compatible Tesla Wall Connector a practical part of ownership planning. Verify the connector generation, vehicle compatibility and installation requirements for your specific car before buying equipment or hiring an electrician.

How to judge whether a used Model X is worth the price
- Match like with like: compare the same model year, dual-motor or Plaid powertrain, mileage range, seat layout and wheel size.
- Verify included equipment: check the tow package, steering control, self-driving configuration, connectivity status and any trial expiration dates.
- Calculate warranty remaining: use the in-service date and odometer, not just the advertised model year.
- Check practical fit: confirm that the seating arrangement and cargo space meet your needs; Plaid is limited to up to six seats while the standard version can offer up to seven.
- Recheck Tesla inventory: used listings are volatile, and the $71,900 example is not a continuing quote.
Manuals, software and feature availability
Tesla’s North American Model X Owner’s Manual covers 2021-and-newer vehicles and identifies software version 2026.32 on its landing page. Tesla notes that feature availability can depend on purchased features, vehicle configuration, region and software version. Confirm those conditions for the specific used car before relying on a feature in your budget or buying decision.
