The practical choice depends on the specific listing, your delivery location, the full checkout cost, and the return terms attached to your order. Compare those details before paying rather than assuming a marketplace-wide winner.
What to compare before you buy
Use the same product category and destination when checking both marketplaces. A low displayed item price is not the same as a low total cost, and marketplace policies do not guarantee the same experience for every seller or order.
- Total checkout cost: Add the item price, shipping, taxes, and any fees. Check whether a minimum-order condition is shown before you place the order.
- Delivery estimate: Use the estimate shown for your address and the particular listing. Wish’s faster-shipping claim applies only to qualifying Wish Picks listings, not all Wish orders.
- Listing details: Check the selected size or variant, dimensions, materials, seller information, and reviews. A marketplace-level policy cannot establish whether a particular item will fit or meet your expectations.
- Refund and return terms: Identify whether your concern is a missing delivery, an item that arrives damaged or unlike its description, or a change-of-mind return. These can have different rules.
Taxes, shipping, payment options, order minimums, and consumer rights can vary by country. Check the terms displayed for your location and order.
How Temu handles eligible problems and returns
Temu’s Purchase Protection describes refunds for items that do not arrive, arrive damaged, or are not as described. A return may be required. For eligible refunds, Temu says the buyer may choose Temu credit or the original payment method, and that the first return for each order is free under the described process. This is not an unconditional promise of a full refund without returning an item.

Temu says almost all items may be eligible for return if the buyer is dissatisfied, but lists exceptions. These include clothing that has been worn, washed, damaged, or made incomplete; items specifically marked non-returnable; customized items; and some free gifts. Check the product and order details to see whether an exception applies.
How Wish handles missing deliveries and returns
Wish’s missing-delivery policy says a refund request can be submitted after the order’s Refund Eligible Date and within 30 days of that date. That window is tied to the order’s stated eligibility date, not simply the day you placed it.

For a return, Wish’s help information says customers may request one within 30 days of delivery. A return shipment may be required, and Wish may not cover return shipping for every order. The policy also describes exceptions involving expedited shipping, promotions, and gift cards. Confirm the live order’s terms before starting a return.
Wish Picks apply only to qualifying listings
Wish describes Wish Picks as “hand-selected items sold by our top-rated merchants.” Its Wish Picks information advertises shipping 3–5 days faster than standard options, free return shipping, and price protection issued as Wish Cash if the price falls within 30 days after delivery. These are program claims for qualifying items, not a delivery or return promise for the entire marketplace. Wish says program terms can change without notice.

What the available evidence does—and does not—show
There is no current same-item, same-destination comparison here that establishes which marketplace has the lower price, better product quality, broader selection, or faster delivery. Wish’s 2024 annual report describes reliance on merchants and third-party carriers and identifies shipping delays and costs as business risks; that company-reported risk does not predict whether a particular order will be late. Regulatory concerns should also be read in their proper scope. The European Commission says the CPC Network notified Temu in November 2024 of practices it assessed as potentially infringing EU consumer law. The concerns it lists include discounts, pressure selling, gamification, refund and return information, minimum-order-value disclosure, review authenticity, and contact details. The Commission describes the action as ongoing; this is not a final adjudication and does not establish that every concern affects every consumer or listing. A practical way to choose
- Find comparable listings for the same kind of item and verify that the selected size, material, and variant are actually comparable.
- Compare the final checkout totals for your destination, including shipping, taxes, fees, and any displayed minimum-order condition.
- Read the delivery estimate and listing signals for each item. Treat Wish Picks benefits as relevant only if the listing qualifies.
- Check the applicable return path before purchase: the deadline, whether you must send the item back, who pays return shipping, and whether an eligible refund can go to your original payment method or platform credit.
- Save the order details and use the marketplace’s live order screen if a delivery or product problem arises, since policy eligibility can depend on the item and order.
