What did 6ix9ine say about the money?
Asked about the cash shown in the Instagram video, 6ix9ine said, “I ain’t got it right now, I ain’t got it,” and called the money “prop money.” He then framed the display as part of his role as an entertainer, saying that the attention meant he had done a good job entertaining people. The Source and XXL reported those remarks from the interview.
What was shown in the Instagram post?
The post appeared shortly before the interview and called 6ix9ine the “King of New York.” Coverage described him displaying cash alongside other expensive-looking possessions. XXL and Complex reported that the display was claimed or presented as about $2 million; that figure describes the post, not an independently established amount of genuine cash.
Was the cash independently proved to be fake?
The reports establish what 6ix9ine said, not a forensic finding about the bills. Complex quoted Skyy L. Daniels, a plaintiff in a civil case connected to a 2018 robbery, saying, “The money that [6ix9ine] showed, I can’t prove whether it was fake or real.” The available coverage therefore supports the careful wording that 6ix9ine described the cash as prop money; it does not establish that an independent examination authenticated the display.

How did the interview relate to the civil case?
Contemporaneous coverage discussed the question about the cash alongside financial claims and a civil case involving victims of a 2018 robbery. The Source and Complex reported a $1 million restitution figure in that context, while AllHipHop connected the interviewer’s question to restitution claims. Those are historical reports about the related case; they do not establish what was paid, what remains due today, or that the prop-money statement resolved any litigation.
