What happened to the Teen Mom cruise?
The event was announced on August 6, 2025, as a five-day Caribbean sailing scheduled for April 2026 aboard Royal Caribbean’s Explorer of the Seas. The planned departure was from Cape Canaveral, Florida, with CocoCay and the Bahamas on the itinerary. The announcement named Catelynn Lowell, Tyler Baltierra, Leah Messer, Jenelle Evans, Ashley Jones, Briana DeJesus, Jade Cline, and Sean Austin as cast participants, according to The Ashley’s original announcement.
On November 3, 2025, The Ashley reported that Showroom Travel confirmed the Teen Mom sailing was canceled along with other reality-show cruises. This concerns the planned April 2026 event, not a separate Teen Mom cruise cancellation from 2017.
What does “fraud” mean in the reports?
Cast members associated with other affected Postgame Cruises accused Showroom Travel of selling cruises under false pretenses, failing to meet obligations, and not paying or compensating cast. These are reported accusations; the available coverage does not establish a court finding that Showroom Travel committed fraud.

The Ashley also reported a statement from Showroom Travel owner Mike Gibson. He said revenue from one cruise had been used to pay deposits for other Postgame Cruises, and that cancellations and missed future sales goals left the company without funds to pay all talent. Gibson accepted responsibility as owner and said, “Sadly I bit off more than I can chew.” His account is an attributed statement, not an independent audit of the company’s finances.
What refunds were promised—and what remains unconfirmed?
The Ashley reported that a Showroom Travel spokesperson promised a 100% refund for future cruises. It also reported Gibson’s instruction that customers dispute their charges. He said disputes would be approved when received and Stripe would reissue payment to the original payment method within 5–7 business days. That time frame was Gibson’s stated estimate, not a verified record of completed refunds.

The reports do not establish the number of Teen Mom cruise customers affected, the total amount paid or lost, the final refund rate, or whether every promised refund was processed. The headline phrase “fans lose thousands” should not be read as a verified aggregate loss figure.
If you booked, what should you do?
- Gather your records. Save the booking confirmation, receipts, card or bank statements, cancellation messages, and all refund or dispute correspondence. Keep copies of any messages from the organizer or payment processor.
- Contact your payment provider. Ask the bank, card issuer, or other payment service that handled your transaction how to report a canceled cruise and what documentation it needs. Follow that provider’s instructions and deadlines; a dispute is not a guarantee of reimbursement.
- Ask the organizer or processor for written confirmation. If you have not received a refund, request the status and any transaction reference in writing. Keep the response with your booking and payment records.
- Check with relevant authorities if needed. Seek situation-specific instructions from the appropriate consumer-protection or law-enforcement authority where you live. Statements by cast members encouraging customers to contact authorities are not a promise that a complaint will produce a refund.
The Federal Maritime Commission advised passengers affected by the separate American Queen Voyages shutdown to consider contacting their credit-card issuer and any travel insurer. Is there an official investigation?
A November 7, 2025 report by TV Season & Spoilers attributed criticism and an apology to Teen Mom alum Jade Cline and said law enforcement had launched an investigation. The reviewed coverage does not include official agency documentation confirming the investigation’s status or outcome, so it should not be treated as independently confirmed.
