Who is Sana Biotechnology’s new CFO?
Brian Piper joined Seattle-based Sana Biotechnology as executive vice president and chief financial officer on February 17, 2026. Sana’s appointment announcement and leadership roster confirm his roles.
Piper’s previous CFO positions were at Scorpion Therapeutics, its spin-off Antares Therapeutics, Prelude Therapeutics, and Aevi Genomic Medicine. Sana also said he spent 13 years at Shire in finance, investor relations, and business-development roles.
Sana CEO Steve Harr said Piper’s leadership would be important as the company advances its type 1 diabetes and in vivo CAR T programs and focuses on long-term value creation. Piper said he intended to support the company’s work with a strong balance sheet, operational discipline, and capital allocation aligned with its patient and shareholder goals.
