He attributed the increase mainly to hyperscaler investment in data centers, including programs awarded earlier that were reaching production. The growth is linked to AI infrastructure, but it is not simply a story about selling GPUs: Hyve also builds networking and CPU systems and provides manufacturing and supply-chain services.
What Hyve Solutions does
Hyve is TD SYNNEX’s hyperscale infrastructure business. It designs, manufactures, integrates and delivers traditional and accelerated compute, cloud and connected infrastructure for large technology customers. It is not simply a conventional server reseller: its work can begin with engineering and co-design and extend through production and component procurement. TD SYNNEX describes Hyve’s business in its fiscal 2026 first-quarter results.
- Original design manufacturing (ODM): Building infrastructure to a customer’s specifications or design framework.
- Custom manufacturing (CM): Manufacturing and integration work tailored to the customer’s needs.
- Engineering and co-design: Working with customers to develop or adapt infrastructure systems, rather than only assembling a fixed design.
- Data-center supply-chain services: Procuring components, holding inventory and managing supply risks for customers.
Hyve also has an accelerated-compute portfolio. Its Orion product announcement featured NVIDIA HGX platforms. That offering is part of a broader infrastructure business, not evidence that all of Hyve’s growth comes from GPU systems.
Why Hyve’s fourth-quarter billings rose
Zammit identified several contributors to the more-than-50% fiscal 2025 fourth-quarter increase in Hyve gross billings: hyperscaler data-center investment, programs moving from award into production, continued ODM and CM activity, and supply-chain-services work. He also noted that a relatively small prior-year comparison helped magnify the growth rate. The figure is gross billings—not revenue, profit or a reported growth rate for every Hyve business line—and the explanation is management’s account of the quarter, as reported by CRN.

Program wins take time to become billings
Some programs had been won in the prior year but needed several quarters to ramp. Their contribution illustrates a lag between a customer awarding work and that work appearing in production billings. As a result, the quarter reflected both current infrastructure spending and execution on earlier wins; it should not be read as a direct measure of newly placed orders alone.
Supply-chain services can add volume unevenly
In a strategic-buy arrangement, a customer may ask Hyve to secure component pricing, purchase parts, hold inventory and manage supply risk. Hyve can earn a margin for providing that service. The activity may increase billings, but its timing and scale depend on customer procurement decisions, inventory needs and component availability. Zammit described this work as opportunistic and lumpy, so it can amplify one quarter without establishing a recurring growth rate.
AI is the catalyst, but the opportunity extends beyond GPUs
AI data centers need more than accelerators. They also require networking, general-purpose compute, storage and the integrated systems and supply chains that support them. Zammit said Hyve’s relevant programs were primarily associated with networking and CPUs rather than GPUs. On TD SYNNEX’s fiscal 2026 second-quarter earnings call, management discussed an accelerated-compute program ramping while expecting more future programs to involve networking, general compute and storage; see the earnings-call transcript.

- Space Saving: Maximum depth: 14.8". Use the wall mount network cabinet to maximize available space for retail locations, classrooms, back offices, network cabinets, and other locations where space is limited.
- Fast Heat Dissipation: The server cabinet is designed with vents to optimize airflow and avoid critical IT equipment overheating. Heat sink holes in the top, bottom, and rear panels are more conducive to heat dissipation.
- Sturdy Construction: Robust welded frame construction for durability and long service life. With 100 lbs wall-mounted load capacity and 200 lbs ground-mounted load capacity, you can place multiple devices in the server rack cabinet as needed.
- High Security: The locked glass door ensures the security of data and equipment. Wall mount rack enclosure server cabinet is ideal for use in public places such as offices, effectively protecting the security of your devices.
- Hassle-free Installation: Fully adjustable square-hole mounting rails of the wall mount server cabinet facilitate device installation. Wiring holes on the top, bottom, and rear panels provide you with easy cable routing.
The distinction matters: AI-related data-center expansion can benefit suppliers across the infrastructure stack, even when their work is not direct accelerator production. Hyve’s growth is therefore better understood as exposure to hyperscaler infrastructure spending with some accelerated-compute activity—not as a disclosed measure of GPU demand.

Zammit said more than 70% of Hyve’s engineering and production resources are based in the United States. He cited sovereignty, proximity, flexibility and the ability to ramp production as advantages for customers, according to CRN.
A U.S.-based footprint may help customers meet domestic or data-sovereignty needs, coordinate closely with engineering teams and expand capacity nearer to operations. It does not, by itself, establish lower costs, immunity from tariffs or guaranteed supply security.

Co-design could also strengthen Hyve’s position. If engineers contribute early in a customer’s infrastructure-development cycle, the relationship may be harder to replace and could lead to follow-on production work. Those are strategic possibilities, not quantified evidence of higher margins, customer retention or returns.

TD SYNNEX reported record fiscal 2026 second-quarter revenue of $19.6 billion, up 31.0% year over year, and non-GAAP gross billings of $28.9 billion, up 33.4%. The company cited broad-based strength across Distribution and Hyve in its results published June 25, 2026; see the company release.
Those consolidated figures support the view that business momentum continued, but they combine TD SYNNEX’s Distribution business with Hyve and do not establish Hyve’s own growth rate. Nor do they show that the more-than-50% Hyve gross-billings increase will recur. Gross billings are a non-GAAP operating measure and are not interchangeable with accounting revenue; neither figure alone establishes profit growth. The cited disclosures also do not provide a Hyve backlog or bookings figure.

Broader demand tailwinds and their limits
Zammit also pointed to PC and server refresh activity, enterprise adoption of AI-capable PCs and infrastructure, potential upgrades to support agentic AI, possible improvement in storage and networking, and continued cloud and security demand. These trends form a wider backdrop for TD SYNNEX, but they are not all Hyve-specific evidence.
He cautioned that higher DRAM and SSD prices could lift average selling prices while eventually pressuring shipment volumes. For infrastructure suppliers, stronger nominal billings therefore do not necessarily mean more units shipped or stronger underlying demand.
What could interrupt Hyve’s growth
- Hyperscaler spending: A slowdown or change in data-center investment could affect demand for Hyve’s programs.
- Customer concentration: TD SYNNEX’s Form 10-Q for the quarter ended May 31, 2026 identifies reliance on cloud-infrastructure demand and a limited number of key customers and suppliers as risks.
- Program timing: Delays between awards and production can shift billings across quarters, making results uneven.
- Component availability and inventory: Shortages, pricing changes or customer decisions about inventory can alter both manufacturing schedules and supply-chain-services billings.
- Nonrecurring strategic buys: A procurement or inventory-management opportunity that lifts one quarter may not repeat at the same scale.
- Business mix: Growth in gross billings does not reveal whether the mix is becoming more profitable; the reported surge alone cannot answer that question.
Evidence of durable momentum would include continued conversion of awarded programs into production and participation across networking, storage and general compute, alongside successful execution of accelerated-compute work. The available figures do not establish how quickly those factors will develop or how much any one customer contributes.
