Verdict: TARIL’s widely circulated claim of ₹75 crore net profit, 347% year-on-year growth and 66% higher revenue cannot yet be rated as good or bad from an official Q2 statement. The verified exchange filing available as of October 13, 2026 covers Q1 FY27, not the quarter ended September 30, 2026. A results listing reported that the board was scheduled to consider Q2 and half-year results, but a meeting schedule is not evidence of approved financial numbers.
What is actually confirmed
Transformers and Rectifiers (India) Limited (TARIL) manufactures transformers and reactors. The National Stock Exchange integrated filing located for the company records an unaudited, standalone Q1 FY27 result approved by the board on July 20, 2026, for the period ended June 30, 2026. It is not a Q2 filing and cannot substantiate September-quarter profit or revenue figures.

The company’s April 21, 2026 FY26 press release gives two useful pieces of operating context: FY26 revenue from operations was approximately ₹2,395 crore, and the unexecuted order book was around ₹5,005 crore as of March 31, 2026. An order book indicates contracted work still to be executed; it is not a guarantee that all of that value will become revenue or profit on a particular timetable.

| Claim or data point | Status as of October 13, 2026 | What is needed |
|---|---|---|
| Net profit of ₹75 crore | Not corroborated by an official Q2 statement located | Approved September-quarter financial statements, with the comparison period and reporting basis |
| 347% year-on-year increase | Unverified; the prior-year rupee amount is not established | Q2 FY26 and Q2 FY27 profit figures on the same basis |
| Revenue up 66% | Unverified; the revenue measure is not established | Revenue from operations (or another clearly identified measure) for both comparable quarters |
| Q2 board consideration | A secondary results listing reported a scheduled consideration date | The company or exchange filing released after approval |
The missing comparison basis matters. Indian companies may present standalone and consolidated accounts, and a percentage can refer to revenue from operations, total income or another measure. Until those details are visible in the filing, the headline cannot be independently checked.

How to judge TARIL’s Q2 result when the filing is released
1. Match the accounting basis
Compare standalone Q2 FY27 with standalone Q2 FY26, or consolidated with consolidated. Do not mix a parent-only figure with a group figure. Check whether both periods are unaudited and whether any restatement has changed the prior-year comparison.
2. Check rupee values as well as percentages
A 347% increase can occur when the earlier profit is unusually small. Read the actual profit after tax in both quarters, then calculate the change. The same test applies to the 66% revenue claim: confirm the two rupee amounts before drawing a conclusion about scale.
3. Separate operating performance from one-off items
Review revenue, profit before tax, profit after tax and operating margins together. Identify exceptional gains or losses, tax-rate changes, finance costs and other income. A large reported profit increase driven mainly by a non-recurring item is less comparable with ordinary manufacturing earnings.

Transformer projects can require significant inventory, advances and receivables. If the half-year filing provides operating cash flow, trade receivables, inventories and contract-related balances, compare them with the profit trend. Rising accounting profit alongside weak cash conversion deserves closer scrutiny; the filing, not the headline, should determine the conclusion.
5. Read order-book commentary carefully
Use the ₹5,005 crore FY26 unexecuted order book as background, then check whether the Q2 release updates execution, new orders, cancellations, delivery timing or margin expectations. The earlier figure is measured at March 31, 2026 and should not be presented as a September 2026 balance.
What investors can and cannot conclude today
- Can conclude: TARIL had reported FY26 revenue of about ₹2,395 crore and an order book of about ₹5,005 crore at March 31, 2026, while the verified exchange result currently available is Q1 FY27.
- Cannot conclude: that Q2 net profit was ₹75 crore, that profit rose 347%, or that revenue increased 66%.
- Cannot infer: how TARIL’s share price should perform. Market prices also reflect expectations, valuation, guidance, liquidity and broader market conditions.
Investors should wait for the approved Q2 FY27 exchange or company filing, then verify the reporting basis, prior-year amounts, margins, exceptional items and cash-flow disclosures before deciding whether the result represents sustainable improvement.

- March 31, 2026: The company-reported unexecuted order book was around ₹5,005 crore.

The Bottom Line
Bottom line: TARIL’s alleged ₹75 crore Q2 profit, 347% YoY jump and 66% revenue growth remain unverified as of October 13, 2026. Treat the headline as a claim to check, not as a confirmed result, until an official Q2 filing supplies comparable figures and the supporting notes.
