Target’s general Price Match Guarantee allows a qualifying price match at purchase or within 14 days after purchase. Target has not established 2026 Early Black Friday dates, offers, or a holiday-specific price guarantee in the official announcements cited here, so 2025 deal dates should not be treated as current.
Target’s general price-match policy
Target may match a qualifying lower price at the time of purchase or within 14 days after purchase. The item must be identical: the same brand, size, weight, color, quantity, and model number. Eligibility also depends on the item and sale channel being covered by Target’s policy. See Target’s current Price Match Guarantee for the complete terms.
The lower price must be current and verifiable. Target asks shoppers to show the online price or digital ad on a mobile device so a team member can check it; screenshots and pictures are not accepted. Comparison-shopping sites are not acceptable proof on their own, as Target explains in its price-match help article.
How to request a price match
For an in-store purchase
- At checkout or Guest Services, show the current price in Target’s digital ad, on Target.com, or in the Target app for verification.
- If using the app to match a store price, make sure it shows the current store location.
Target matches Target.com prices for in-store purchases, but does not match a lower price at a different Target store for an in-store purchase.
For a Target.com or app order
- Contact Target through online chat or Guest Services with the order number and item information ready.
- For a request after purchase, keep the original receipt or packing slip, whether physical or digital.
Target says online or app price matches are unavailable in Alaska and Hawaii. It also reserves the right to deny a purchase or limit quantities.
What may be excluded
Target’s exclusions include clearance, closeout and liquidation items; damaged or refurbished products; typographical errors; bundles and pre-orders; some coupons and gift-card offers; and specified services. Certain Target Circle Bonuses, registry completion coupons, and other promotions may not combine with a match. Target distinguishes automatically applied Circle deals from bonuses a member must select, so check the specific offer and the full policy before relying on a combined discount.

What Target announced for Early Black Friday in 2025
Target’s dated 2025 holiday announcement scheduled its three-day Early Black Friday Sale for November 6–8, 2025. Target said many of the thousands of new deals would be 40% off or higher, with examples including selected pajamas, holiday décor and lights, LEGO products and clothing, plus discounts of up to 50% on small appliances, floorcare and selected toys. These were advertised offers for 2025, not a 2026 deal list.
For 2025, Target also announced a Holiday Price Match Guarantee from November 1 through December 24, matching a purchased item if its price went lower at Target later in the season. That seasonal window was separate from the general 14-day policy. The same announcement described daily deals for Target Circle members during that period and weeklong deals beginning November 2.
Why 2024 dates do not predict 2026 dates
Target’s 2024 announcement set its Early Black Friday Sale for November 7–9 and its holiday price guarantee for November 7–December 24. The dates changed between the two years; neither announcement establishes the 2026 schedule. Look for a dated Target announcement before treating any new event dates, discounts, or seasonal guarantee as confirmed.

Base the decision on the price and offer available now, not on an unannounced sale. If you buy, note the purchase date and channel, confirm that the item matches exactly, and retain the receipt or packing slip. Then monitor Target’s price only for the applicable adjustment period: the general policy gives 14 days after purchase, unless a separate, officially announced seasonal guarantee applies to that purchase.
