TAP Air Portugal’s reported New Year’s flight sale is over: The booking deadline was January 19, 2025. A January 2025 report described round-trip economy fares from select U.S. cities to Europe, but its headline claim of more than 40 destinations is not substantiated by the available destination details. The examples and prices below are historical, not current offers.
When did TAP’s New Year’s sale run?
The Points Guy reported that tickets had to be booked by January 19, 2025. The sale’s listed travel window was January 15 through May 15, 2025, with eligible dates varying by route. The report also listed blackout dates from April 7 through April 22, 2025. Those dates have passed, so they cannot be used to plan a new booking.
What fares and destinations were reported?
The Points Guy cited example round-trip economy fares ranging from $419 to $499 from various U.S. gateways. These were fares observed when the report was published on January 9, 2025—not guaranteed prices, a complete fare list, or an indication of what tickets cost now. The report also said business-class fares to cities in Portugal started at $2,300 round trip; that, too, was a historical starting price, not a current quote. The Points Guy’s January 9, 2025 report
Examples named in the report included Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Copenhagen, London, Dublin, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Oslo, Lisbon, Faro, Lajes, Venice, and Vienna. These examples do not establish a complete destination list. Although the headline described more than 40 destinations, the available report details do not verify that count.

What did the sale economy fare include?
For the sale fare, The Points Guy reported one personal item and one carry-on item included. Seat selection and checked baggage cost extra, with charges varying by flight. These are details of the reported 2025 offer; they should not be treated as TAP’s current baggage rules or as terms for a different fare. Check the conditions shown for the exact itinerary before paying.
How to check for a current TAP promotion
The reported promotion has expired, and the available information does not confirm a replacement sale or establish current fares. For a booking you are considering, check TAP’s current offer and the fare conditions attached to your selected flights. Compare the full trip cost—including any seat or checked-bag charges—alongside travel dates, restrictions, and change or cancellation terms. A historical sale price alone is not a useful current comparison.
