Watches & Jewelry excluding Production reported a 17.7% operating margin for the full year and 18.4% in the second half of 2021. The second-half figure indicates a stronger margin in that period than across the year as a whole; it is a segment measure, not the group’s overall operating margin.

Cash flow and net liquidity
- Operating cash flow: CHF 1,298 million.
- Free cash flow: CHF 1,033 million. Swatch Group defines this as operating cash flow less investing cash flow, excluding financial assets and securities.
- Net liquidity: CHF 2,558 million. The company’s definition includes specified cash, financial assets, debt and derivative items, so this measure should be understood according to its stated definition rather than as a generic cash balance.
What did Swatch Group forecast for 2022?
In its January 2022 announcement, Group Management anticipated double-digit sales growth in local currencies for 2022. That was a forecast made at the time, not a current outlook or evidence of the eventual 2022 result. The announcement also discussed the Electronic Systems order book as context for that outlook; neither statement changes the reported 2021 results.
