A Super Bowl parlay combines two or more betting selections on one ticket. Usually, every active selection must win for the ticket to pay; one losing selection generally makes the whole parlay a loss. A push or void may instead remove a selection and recalculate the ticket, depending on the sportsbook’s rules. The larger possible payout comes with more conditions to get right—not a safer bet or a reliable way to make money.
What is a parlay bet?
A parlay is a single wager that joins multiple selections. For example, a hypothetical two-leg ticket might require both a game outcome and a scoring total to be correct. If both win, the parlay wins. If either loses, the ticket generally loses. If one selection is voided or pushed, the sportsbook may remove it and recalculate the remaining wager.
Because the ticket depends on several results, a parlay has more ways to lose than a wager with fewer conditions. Its displayed combined payout reflects the operator’s pricing of those conditions; it should not be read as evidence that the outcome is likely or that the bet offers a profit strategy.
What selections can a Super Bowl parlay include?
Where offered, a Super Bowl parlay can combine selections from markets such as these:

These are market categories, not current recommendations. The Associated Press used the 49ers–Chiefs Super Bowl matchup in a February 2024 explainer; any players, lines, or odds in that historical example are not current. No current matchup or odds are established here.
How does a same-game parlay work?
A same-game parlay, often abbreviated SGP, groups multiple selections from one game. The selections may be related: a quarterback’s passing performance and his team winning, for instance, can depend on overlapping game conditions. As a result, the chance of one selection winning may change when another is included. Combined odds cannot automatically be treated as though every selection were independent.

The Illinois Gaming Board’s March 15, 2021 order described a correlated parlay as “a wager made up of two or more component wagers where the success of one component makes the outcome of another component more or less likely to occur.” Its example involved a team needing to win its conference championship before it could win the Super Bowl. That dependency illustrates why combinations can require special pricing or restrictions.
An SGP is a sportsbook-defined product, not a universal set of rules. FanDuel’s Ohio terms, dated July 22, 2026, say correlated selections generally are not permitted unless explicitly offered, such as through its SGP product, and reserve remedies if a correlated wager is accepted in error. Other operators and locations may set different terms.

What happens if one parlay leg is void or pushed?
A push or void is not necessarily treated like a loss. Some rules remove the affected selection and recalculate the remaining ticket, but the details depend on the operator, jurisdiction, and bet type. For example, DraftKings says a push removes that selection and recalculates the odds. FanDuel’s Ohio terms similarly say void legs are removed and the remaining legs determine the result. Delaware Lottery rules also distinguish regular parlays, same-game parlays, and Super Parlays, and provide for remaining selections and revised odds when a leg is void or pushed.
Those are examples, not a universal settlement rule. A nonparticipating player, a postponed or abandoned game, or a special SGP condition may be handled under separate provisions. Check the rules for the exact ticket before assuming an affected leg will simply disappear.

Are Super Bowl parlays risky?
Yes. The ordinary all-legs-must-win condition means that adding selections adds conditions that must all be met. A potentially larger combined payout does not make a parlay safer, establish that it is likely to win, or turn it into a dependable way to earn money. Treat a wager as entertainment, not income or a plan for paying expenses.
For a personal-finance boundary, decide on a fixed amount before betting and use only money you can afford to lose. Do not use money needed for bills or other obligations, and do not increase a stake to recover losses. The Associated Press’s February 2024 explainer also cautioned that fast-changing in-game betting can be harmful for people experiencing gambling problems. Help contacts vary by location, so use a current local gambling-support resource rather than assuming one phone number applies everywhere.

What to check before placing a parlay
- Whether the selections can be combined: Correlated outcomes may be restricted or available only through a designated SGP product.
- How the ticket settles: Read the rules for pushes, voids, nonparticipating players, and any postponement or abandonment scenarios that may apply.
- Which product you are betting: A same-game parlay, a multi-game parlay, and a Super Parlay may have different conditions.
- Limits and operator discretion: Check maximum payouts and whether the sportsbook may refuse, limit, or adjust a wager. FanDuel’s Ohio terms expressly reserve discretion to refuse or limit parlays; that is an example of operator-specific terms.
- Your location and the current rules: Legal access and settlement terms depend on jurisdiction and operator. Consult the regulator and sportsbook rules that apply where you are, rather than relying on a generic explanation.
Rules cited here are specific examples: the FanDuel terms are for Ohio and dated July 22, 2026; Delaware Lottery rules apply to Delaware; and the Illinois Gaming Board order dates to 2021. Terms can change, so the current rules for your location and ticket take precedence.
