Those figures cover airtime—not the full cost of producing and promoting a campaign. AI was a visible theme, but advertisers used it in different ways: some sold AI services, one promoted AI-enabled glasses, and Svedka’s commercial was described as AI-assisted in production.
How much did a 30-second Super Bowl ad cost?
Peter Lazarus, NBCUniversal’s executive vice president for sports and Olympics advertising and partnerships, said the average price for a 30-second Super Bowl LX spot was $8 million, and a handful sold for more than $10 million, according to the Associated Press. These are reported airtime prices. They do not establish what an advertiser spent on creative development, production, talent, or other campaign activity.
The price helps explain why the ads drew attention beyond the game: a single half-minute slot represented a substantial media buy. But it is not a measure of whether a campaign paid off. Ad prices, the number of technology advertisers, and post-ad sales reported by a retailer describe different things.
How did brands use AI in their Super Bowl ads?
AI showed up in several distinct roles. Some commercials promoted AI services or assistants; Oakley Meta advertised glasses with AI features; and iSpot described Svedka’s spot as AI-assisted in its production. These examples do not mean that AI appeared in most Super Bowl commercials: a comprehensive, independently validated share of all Super Bowl LX ads featuring AI has not been established.

AI assistants and services
- Anthropic’s Claude: The Associated Press reported that Anthropic positioned Claude as a chatbot without ads, contrasting it with OpenAI’s stated plans to place ads in free and cheaper versions of ChatGPT. That is the campaign’s competitive message, not an independent comparison of the companies’ business models.
- Amazon’s Alexa+: Amazon’s commercial featured Chris Hemsworth imagining how the Alexa+ chatbot could hurt him, according to the Associated Press. The reporting identifies the assistant promotion but does not establish a particular Echo model as the featured product.
- Wix Harmony and Genspark: iSpot described Wix showing an AI-assisted process for creating a business website and Genspark showcasing productivity tools. These were service and software examples, rather than physical AI devices.
- Google: The Associated Press described a mother and son using Google Photos and AI tools to imagine a new house, presenting AI in a consumer-oriented setting.
AI-enabled consumer hardware
Oakley Meta Performance AI Glasses were the clearest physical product example in the reporting. iSpot described two 30-second placements featuring campaign talent including Spike Lee, iShowSpeed, Marshawn Lynch, and Olympians, along with the voice-activated prompt “Hey Meta, record this.” The ad promoted glasses that combine eyewear with AI-enabled features; the available campaign description does not establish the eligibility or details of any particular retail listing.
AI used to make a commercial
iSpot described Svedka’s commercial as AI-assisted and produced alongside AI agency Silverside. That is different from an ad selling an AI product: here, AI was part of the production process. The description supports that distinction, not a broader claim that the spot was made entirely by AI.

Was AI the main theme of Super Bowl LX advertising?
AI and technology were prominent, but they were not the whole ad lineup. The Associated Press also identified weight-loss drugs and celebrities among the year’s commercial themes, while the broader mix included food and beverage, health and telehealth, consumer technology, and entertainment.
Axios reported that Lazarus called technology and AI the strongest category growth in Super Bowl advertising. In its snapshot of national in-game linear advertisers released or teased by February 5, 2026, Axios counted 16 technology advertisers. That is a dated snapshot, not a final count of every campaign that aired.

Axios also reported figures from XR Extreme Reach: celebrity talent spending reached $253 million in 2025, up from 2020, and 61% of total ads featured celebrities. Those figures put the AI push in context: technology advertisers competed for attention in a broadcast where celebrity-led advertising remained widespread.

One available sales example comes from Gopuff, which reported that Kinder Bueno unit sales on its platform rose 100% during the hour after the commercial compared with the preceding hour. That is Gopuff’s own order data around a specific airing; it does not establish that the ad caused the increase or that sales changed similarly across other retailers.

- Category; NFL Balls
Gopuff separately reported that all-day Sunday sales were up 444% compared with its previous five-Sunday average. This is a different time window and comparison from the hour-before-and-after figure, and it should not be treated as the same measure.
These numbers offer a bounded example of a retailer tracking near-term orders, not a general verdict on Super Bowl advertising. The reported airtime price, Axios’s advertiser snapshot, and Gopuff’s platform data each measure a different part of the advertising story.
