Sisters Alexis Melville and Tegan Quinlivan were putting the final touches on Styled in May, a planned dress-hire business in Nedlands. PerthNow reported on July 18, 2024 that the pair expected to open the following month. That launch-time report does not establish whether the shop opened or remains in operation.
The founders described broader size availability as the business’s point of difference. Melville said they saw an opportunity because, in their experience, many Perth dress-hire businesses tended to stock smaller sizes, usually no bigger than size 10. This was the founders’ observation, not an independently verified survey of local businesses.
What sizes and designer labels were planned?
Quinlivan said the founders were trying to source larger sizes across brands, but found that many labels did not extend beyond size 16. She singled out CAMILLA’s universally sized kaftans as garments they liked. The report did not provide a complete size chart, confirm a maximum size for Styled in May, or establish which items would be available in each size.

PerthNow reported that planned hire prices started at $70 for a four-to-seven-day hire. This was the founders’ reported pricing before the intended August 2024 opening, not a current quote. The article did not specify the price of individual garments, any additional fees, or current hire and return terms.

What was the planned shop experience?
Melville described an intended welcoming atmosphere, including a bar cart and music chosen by customers. She said the founders wanted to create “a really fun, good atmosphere for everyone.” The report records their concept at the time; it does not confirm that these features became part of an operating shop.
