According to Streamex, GLDY distributions are intended to reflect net gold-leasing economics passed through a special-purpose vehicle (SPV). The stated source of distributions is therefore leasing activity—not gold-price appreciation or trading returns. This describes the intended economics, not a guaranteed yield, independently verified payment history, or assurance that distributions will be made. Is tokenized gold backed by physical gold?
Streamex describes GLDY as gold-backed, and its SEC annual report identifies physical gold held by the product SPV as central to the GLDY structure. That is relevant to the issuer’s stated backing, but “gold-backed” alone does not answer what legal claim a particular holder has, how holdings are verified, or how redemption and settlement work.
