Its discounts are no longer a current offer: the prices below are historical snapshots reported by GamesRadar+ in US dollars and pounds, not verified live prices. Valve described the event as digital-only. These eight picks are a genre-balanced selection from GamesRadar+’s 11 recommendations, not an official or source-published top-eight ranking.
What the 2026 Steam Summer Sale offered
Valve’s official announcement dates the sale June 25–July 9, 2026, and labels it digital-only. The promotion has ended, so treat every discount and price in this guide as a record of the sale period, not an offer you can still claim. Check each Steam listing for current price and availability before buying.
The eight choices below span horror, role-playing games, strategy, simulation and exploration-platforming. The price figures come from GamesRadar+’s 2026 roundup; they are snapshots, not independent price checks or a guarantee of what Steam charges now. A larger percentage discount alone does not establish that a game is the best value for you.
Eight notable deals, by genre
Horror
- Resident Evil Requiem — GamesRadar+ reported $55.99 / £47.99 at 20% off, and described that sale price as its lowest at the time. A horror pick for players who want tension over a bargain-basement price; the source’s “lowest” description applies to the sale period, not today.
Role-playing games
- Cyberpunk 2077: Ultimate Edition — $33.10 / £27.58 at 60% off in GamesRadar+’s report. The roundup says this edition includes the base game and the Phantom Liberty expansion, making it the more complete choice for someone seeking both.
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 — $23.99 / £19.99 at 60% off in the same report. Consider it if you prefer a different RPG option; the discount percentage matches Cyberpunk’s, but that does not make the games interchangeable.
Strategy
- Heroes of Might and Magic: Olden Era — $29.99 / £26.24 at 25% off. GamesRadar+ noted that it was in Early Access during the sale, an important distinction for buyers who prefer finished releases.
- Mewgenics — $22.49 / £18.74 at 25% off. A strategy roguelike option for players drawn to runs and tactical decision-making rather than a traditional role-playing campaign.
Simulation
- Two Point Museum — $20.09 / £16.64 at 33% off. The simulation pick for someone who would rather build and manage than focus on combat or exploration.
- Inkonbini: One Store. Many Stories — $15.99 / £13.59 at 20% off. Another simulation choice, with a lower reported sale price than Two Point Museum; choose by the experience you want, not price alone.
Exploration and platforming
- Hollow Knight: Silksong — GamesRadar+ reported a 25% discount and called it the game’s lowest Steam price at the time, but the reviewed passage did not give a price figure. No dollar or pound amount is included here because it was not established in that report.
How to use these historical prices
These figures can help you remember what the Summer Sale offered, but they cannot tell you what a game costs now or what it will cost in a later promotion. Compare current listings in your own Steam region before deciding. In particular, don’t assume that a larger historical discount means a better purchase: fit, genre, edition contents and Early Access status are more useful decision points.
#1 Best Overall
- 1TB NVMe SSD
- 1280 x 800 HDR OLED display with premium anti-glare etched glass, 7.4" Diagonal display size up to 90Hz refresh rate
- Wi-Fi 6E
- 50Whr battery; 3-12 hours of gameplay (content-dependent)
- Carrying case with removable liner
If you are choosing among these eight, start with the kind of game you actually want: horror, an RPG, strategy, simulation or exploration-platforming. Then weigh the listed historical price and discount as context rather than as a promise of future savings. The source did not establish an objective best-value winner.

Valve’s Steamworks documentation says, “Four times a year, we run Steam-wide seasonal sale events.” It explains that seasonal events are broad store promotions and that discounts of 20% or more trigger wishlist email notifications. Featured placement, it says, depends in part on game tags, popularity and user recommendations. Those mechanics can help explain how sale listings reach shoppers, but do not predict whether a specific game will be discounted again or at the same price.
